Most decks need to be up and running quickly to compete. All I need to do is get set up before I lose, which increases my chances of getting cards I need. The real reason that this deck is functional is it's synergy. Every single card can serve multiple purposes. Thraben Doomsayer for instance, can be the Worship creature, part of an infinite combo with Intruder Alarm and buff my potential other creatures. Aegis of the Gods is great because it gives me hexproof while being able to be shrouded by Greater Auramancy and searched for with Idyllic Tutor and the Worshiped creature.
