Well hey there. Did you ever want to build a control deck but after going through your card collection, you're all like, "Dude! I don't have enough good, cheap, low CMC, white or blue, control cards!" Well, if you are that pizza-hungry bro or broette, then please, consider this deck. Or, if you simply want to help out, please leave suggestions and criticism in the comments; I promise I won't cry no matter how mean you are!

That brings me to the three most important things to remember about this deck: simple control, low CMC, and $20 maximum budget.

  • How to draw what you want.

Augur of Bolas, Brainstorm, Sage Owl , and Index. Each of these cards enable you to manipulate what cards you would draw, and some offer card draw after doing so. These cards work even more beautifully if you have a Telepathy down, as it helps to really develop a plan for mentally slapping your opponent.

  • Leave your opponent speechless.

Silence. Like its name suggests; it is bound to shut your opponent up. It is the #1 card to look for when you cast Kaho, Minamo Historian . Blind Obedience, take that Aggro. Disperse, Negate, Redirect, Telepathy , Curse of Exhaustion, and finally, Psychic Possession . Each of these cards are great, flat-out control cards. They are sure to keep your opponent from winning the game before Ludevic's Abomination   starts physically slapping your opponent.

  • Those other guys.

Kaho, Minamo Historian . Essentially Isochron Scepter, with some differences. The only real drawback from Isochron Sceptor is the higher CMC and the fact that she is a creature. However, with a few Negates and Redirects, her being a creature is nothing this deck can't handle. The major advantage over Isochern Sceptor is that you get to not only "imprint" three instants on her, but you get to search your library for them. Ludevic's Test Subject   , flip it, and you'll know why it is in this deck. Fog Bank, Hand of Honor , Capashen Knight , and Wall of Essence are all great for preventing your opponents from dealing damage to you. However, life loss isn't really something you have to worry about as soon as Kaho, Minamo Historian is played.

  • Sideboard.

Archaeomancer helps to get back some of those instants, but is in the sideboard due to the high CMC. Erayo, Soratami Ascendant , makes for a great combo with Curse of Exhaustion. Mana Leak is a great counter spell, but is in the sideboard because it gives your opponent a chance to counter it by paying three mana. Personal Sanctuary , helps to stop burn spells or other pesky things. Curse of Exhaustion, in case you'd like to work in a more efficient chance of hitting off the Curse of Exhaustion + Erayo, Soratami Ascendant combo.Nevermore, helps to foil your opponent's plans, but is very circumstancial; if you don't know what cards are in your opponent's deck, it could just end up wasting three mana. Kaho, Minamo Historian , to increase chance of drawing in case you feel that current chances are not enough. Heliod's Pilgrim, to help draw Curse of Exhaustion if you run the Curse of Exhaustion + Erayo, Soratami Ascendant combo.

  • Maybe-board

Whenever a card is suggested by someone, if I see some potential in the card, but not enough to main board it, it shall be put into the maybe board. If it receive 5 votes, it goes into the side board. If it receives an additional 5 votes, it goes into the main board. As of right now, all the cards on the maybeboard have 1 vote each.

Thank you for viewing my deck, and please, upvote and leave suggestions!

Since this is a budget deck, I figured it would make sense to list the current price. As of right now, on tcgplayer.com the deck is a little under $20. That is with all the cards in either near mint or lightly played condition. ($19.17 exact, without the lands and sideboard that is.)

I am also clearing the comments, which I do often because I like me a clean comment section. ;)
