Call of the Unkown (Help Wanted)

Standard* GU (Simic)

With Manifest and Morph a mechanic in these last two sets I decided to try and make the most competetive face down deck possible. This is what I have come up with so far and would definately accept suggestions within theme or to help the deck out.

Both Elvish Mystic and Rattleclaw Mystic provide the ramp in this deck as I think the key to this deck is getting to five mana as quickly as possible to be able to flip all morphs or manifested creatures. Additionally I could add Trail of Mystery in this section as turn two trail and turn three morph could guarantee a fourth or fifth land depending on my hand.

Main three creatures would be Sagu Mauler , Whisperwood Elemental , and Hooded Hydra . Mauler is the most durable creature as having hexproof will be big with no protection for my creatures main board and allows me to punch through with trample. Hydra was the inspiration with this deck combined with Wildcall as potentially manifesting and then flipping up the Hydra for GG is a huge upside, additionally he can go wide with his snake tokens if he is removed. Finally, Whisperwood makes the deck humm but is also the most vulnerable creature of the three but at the very least can help against board wipes through his sac ability.

Manifesting options come from three places Whisperwood Elemental , Wildcall , and Write into Being . Having Whisperwood out is the best option as he manifests every end step and maintaining more than one on the field at any time will quickly overrunn the opponent. Wildcall is nice as it is always on curve so it is never a bad draw whether it be early or late game and those +1 counters stay on after being flipped which is huge for any three of my primary creatures. Finally Write into Being is a good card as at worst it is a 2/2 body for 2U and a scry effect, at best I find one of my primary creatures to manifest and scry.

Considering I am going to be having a lot of face down creatures I decided to have Secret Plans and Trail of Mystery . Secret Plans allows me to have a decent card draw engine as well as help winning some combats, especially true against a lot of 2/1 or 2/2 creatures in aggro decks. Trail of Mystery both helps me get to that 5 mana spot that I need to be as well as allow for my opponent to keep guessing as even a morphed rattleclaw can become a 4/3 if turned up with a trail of mystery on the board.

Lastly is both Kiora, the Crashing Wave and Reality Shift . Reality shift is in here as it is a removal spell in blue and currently I am not splashing black or red and my deck should be able to hand a 2/2 on the field as I should hopefully have more. Kiora is well just awesome helping to stall the board as the getting the advantage on the ground can become a long affiar and with some ramp she can be on the field on turn 3 and going ultimate turn 6 spawning 9/9 krakens.
