Greetings, This is one of my first budget decks that I have built using 100% cards in my collection, and help would be appreciated. Mechanics I love burning and gaining life, so what better card to use than Soulfire Grand Master! This combined with the red cantrip Blazing Volley may not destroy creatures, but it can gain you much life against a swarm deck, etc. 2 Lightning Bolt are in play as well, as these can eliminate creatures more effectively. Blue Red, or Izzet, is used in this deck through cards like Stormchaser Mage to provide quick attack/defense to fit with the prowess triggers, and also a few copies of cards like Twisted Image and Phantasmal Bear. Using these cards, you can get some quick leverage and reduce life totals drastically. Control is not very present in this deck, as it has more burn, but Port Town helps you get both Twisted Image and Myth Realized out quite fast, which can be lethal combined with noncreature spells. Monks Monks play a great part in this deck, using prowess to attack with damage very quickly with Shu Yun, the Silent Tempest. Soulfire Grand Master is also an essential monk as mentioned above, which serves many different purposes in the deck.
