Evoke the Angels with this casual life gain deck that hinges on Angelic Accord .

Lone Missionary leads the charge as each one summons an angel onto the battlefield. He is granted abilities from the gods in the form of Armored Ascension and Celestial Mantle. An instant army is created when Healer of the Pride welcomes Attended Knight and his soldier to pray for another angel. If Pacifism and Oblivion Ring aren't enough to clear the way, Serra Avatar should provide the killing blow wearing a Spirit Mantle.

General Strategy:

The white deck is an overall very balanced deck. It has elements of mid-range, combo and control. The Attended Knights and various life gain cards offer great counters against aggressive strategies. The Angelic Accord s offer inevitability against control decks, and the various enchantments ensure that you should always have a decent army. There are also four enchantments that offer pinpoint removal to the biggest threat on the table. The downside to this versatility is that this deck takes awhile to stabilize, and if one piece of its tower gets knocked out the whole thing can crumble.

White Knight and Silver Knight offer protection from two separate decks. Elixir of Immortality can recycle your countered spells and makes sure the blue deck will run out of cards before you. Green's strategy relies on a few big creatures to push for damage. They make great targets for Pacifism.

About Beta Decks:

Beta Decks are a series of casual decks built to be played against each other by people who are new to Magic, have played a bit before, or just want to have fun at a kitchen table. It is not an "alpha deck" or one that has been Top 8 at FNM. All the decks are intended to be roughly balanced against one another. The term Beta also applies to the fact that these decks will be changed frequently.

I started by building themed decks for my girlfriend and I to play against each other when have some spare time. Now I'm hoping to provide an alternative to the Intro/Theme decks that WOTC is putting out. Please take a look and see if there are any improvements you would make to the deck. I'm always trying to balance them against one another so that there is a pretty even distribution of power.

Rules:

  1. Work in a theme
  2. No more than 3x play sets per deck
  3. No complex cards (Warp World)
  4. Budget decks: cost around $20
  5. At least one artifact and one enchantment
