Clerics, the defense OGs. This deck is built around Daru Spiritualist + High Priest of Penance + Shaman en-Kor combo. The shaman can redirect damage from any creature on the battlefield onto the high priest. With the spiritualist on the battlefield, each time you redirect 1 damage onto the priest, it gets +0/+2, so it never actually dies...and each time you hit it with 1 damage, you may destroy target non-land permanent...

Imagine you are being attacked by 10 2/2 goblins. Throw down a Valor Made Real and block them all with the shaman. Redistribute all 20 damage onto the priest, and it gets buffed up to a 1/41, and then you may proceed to destroy 20 non-land permanents! This combo can block an infinite amount of damage this way. Feel free to laugh maniacally as you bathe in the tears of your enemies.

Mother of Runes is a powerhouse when it comes to removal protection and pushing damage through. Shadow Slice and Eternal Thirst are there to plop down on a Augur il-Vec for some easy damage/lifegain. Whipgrass Entangler is there to help stop unblock-able creatures or to stall until the dream team can be assembled. Crescendo of War is amazing in this deck because the +1/+0 will just lead to more dead permanents for your opponents and more damage for you!
