Sideboard

The aim is to build a competitive heroic deck but instead of building one creature up like in Tom Ross' W/u heroic, I want to go wider. Please let me know what you think and any tips (particularly with the sideboard) would be great. +1 Is always appreciated.

From the fairly extensive testing I've done, it can play a great aggro game but can also do reasonably in the mid-game because creatures just get so large.

Before I go through each card, here's the best play I've been able to make while testing:

I had two Phalanx Leaders and a Favoured Hoplite out along with a hardened scales. I then got to attack in and cast Reap What Is Sown on each creature, meaning the Phalanx Leaders got 6 counters each and the Favored Hoplite got 8. Yeah, I won that game.

CREATURES

Soldier of the Pantheon - Solid 1 drop helps out with our aggro game plan. Matches up well against the tri-colour spells going around. However, he is a bit of a nonbo with Reap What Is Sown .

Favored Hoplite - Fits perfect into the deck, can apply light pressure but is a robust threat with some heroic triggers. Even if the spell you play can't get him big enough his prevent damage clause keeps him around. Also works great against burn and deathtouch.

Lagonna-Band Trailblazer - Great robust 1 drop. Burn rarely gets him and he can block for days while you try set up for a huge heroic blow-out.

Seeker of the Way - Most people know now that heroic and prowess work great together - there's no exception in this deck. He buys you time against faster aggro decks with the life link and allows you to cast your targeted spells on the heroic guys while still benefiting himself. He's also pretty solid a dishing out some early aggro.

Phalanx Leader - The most fun card in the deck. The plan is litter the battlefield with 1 drops then play him turn 3 with mana up to cast a spell and buff the whole team. If that spell is a protection spell perfect - he's valuable, try look after him.

Fabled Hero - When he's sweet, he is SWEET. However he can often be stuck in your hand or dealt with instantly with a removal spell. But the huge pay out if you can cast him and have protection in the same turn makes him a feasible two-of despite this deck only occasionally getting to 4 mana by the early midgame.

SPELLS

Gods Willing - Best most efficient protection spell that triggers heroic. Also allows a scry so the occasional up-keep cast before drawing a card does happen.

Ajani's Presence - Awesome protection spell as it buffs the creature in addition to the heroic trigger which means it can be used to trade up or indeed do that extra bit of damage to win. Only downside is the fact exile still gets around it.

Defiant Strike - Pretty decent card, gets across an extra point of damage and triggers heroic while keeping your hand full. I should mention cards are premium in a heroic deck - if you run out of instants then you're just left with pretty anaemic creatures.

Warriors' Lesson - 1 of 2 reasons to splash green. Similarly, as above, helps keep your hand full but also triggers heroic for two creatures. Also worth mentioning that with Fabled Hero it draws a card for each strike of damage.

Reap What Is Sown - This spell is insane. Triggers heroic as well as adding counters of its own. If you get the chance to cast this on a Phalanx Leader or two or even just other heroic creatures, it feels great. As mentioned previously though it cannot target Soldier of the Pantheon .

Hardened Scales - This card can be either absolutely back breaking for the opponent or it can sit on the field and do very little. It's tough to run when it's so important to have creatures and targeted spells but it is just too good when it works to not run any.
