A mono-blue devotion deck inspired by various builds across the website. Has great aggro as well as a devastating mid-to-late game. The creatures are mainly evasive, having flying or unblockable, making it tough for the opponent to stop them from chipping away at their life.
Creatures:
Ornithopter: 0-drop creature to be combined with
Ensoul Artifact
for a turn-2 5 flying damage swing; also can be used to play a turn-3
Illusory Angel
Hypnotic Siren
/
Triton Shorestalker
: used to apply early pressure with a 1-drop flier or unblockable; also used to play a turn 4
Illusory Angel
Quickling: a nice 2-drop aggro flier that can be flashed in at the end of your opponent's turn to swing next turn for 2
Thassa, God of the Sea: 3-drop used for the early scry ability to get the cards I need and to make my creatures even more evasive (in case they have fliers, too); also, once devotion is achieved, a 5/5 indestructible ain't too shabby
Illusory Angel
: the unsung hero of this deck. A 4/4 flier is a great creature especially if it can come out to play on turn-3
Master of Waves: and of course, the boss of this deck. Though I may not be able to get that much devotion for his drop ability, even to play him with low devotion still applies lots of pressure. Especially if I have already played Hall of Triumph, giving all my blue creatures +1/+1
Enchantments:
Ensoul Artifact
: pretty self-explanatory. Used to enchant Ornithopter or Darksteel Citadel for a 5/5 flier or indestructible
Military Intelligence: now what kind of blue deck wouldn't have some sort of card drawing mechanic. With the fast 1-drop creatures, it's very easy to be drawing an extra card per turn starting on turn-3; potentially turn-2 with the use of Ornithopter.
Instants:
Retraction Helix and
Triton Tactics
are to be used in a very fun combo. Essentially, I can pull off a double non-land permanent removal at instant speed, with only the use of 2-mana. And potentially a quadruple removal for only 3-mana. Very fun indeed.
