First FNM (w/ current edition) —Sept. 21, 2019

This deck over preformed going 2-1-1. Its best match up were mid-range and combo. Its worst match up was anything that could surgically extract Approach and decks with counterspells. Overall I will change the ratio of counterspells and I will take it to the next FNM!

hmm now I'm not sure that's a goal worth going for? Is the goal for casual play?

Demarge It provides roughly a turn 8 win condition that comes fairly frequently (there is enough card draw that you should be able to draw and cast two by turn 8). There are likely better win conditions but this one was the most affordable.

meant your deck description, currently your deck is only legacy legal, so the question is if it was worth adding nearly $100 worth of cards to the premade for what will likely only be fun in casual play.

Demarge It saves a lot of money to buy the premade because many of the expensive cards come with that. Taking out Magus of the Moat helps too. If you want to make it modern legal, I would suggest taking out the swords to plowshares for Path to Exile , it is more expensive and slightly worse for this deck, but it makes it modern legal. I have never used this deck in a tournament, but it can totally dominate against 300$ decks in casual. While this may be quite expensive, it is fun to play and is nowhere near as expensive as some decks of this level can get.

bunny789dat That was a budget decision. If I had more money I certainly would. Although I prefer Fumigate

ok, casual format it is then (you can manually change the format in the deck edit pretty much at the top, being tagged in the wrong format also makes the suggestion system not work properly), my questions were more to figure out what I can suggest for upgrades and less actual questions to build as I have U/W control (what I got edition).

For a bit of a power boost both Narset, Parter of Veils and Ashiok, Dream Render dig you over halfway down to recast that same approach, Fact or Fiction will dig you even deeper and most casual groups no one has any clue how to make a good pile. Ponder is a beast of a cantrip compared to Opt in digging for that 2nd sun.

Now if you're in casual and it's multiplayer, Soul Snare can do wonders in keeping people from attacking you. you have the depute, but why not just have the Detention Sphere so you don't board wipe it?

Speaking of board wipes Planar Cleansing will destroy everything and Day of Judgment is 1 mana cheaper, sure you have a kind of chance to bounce a moat back to your hand or gain some life off the other board wipes, but wiping everything or being lower cmc are overal just better.

now more counterspells are rather strong, Spell Pierce and Dispell can directly protect your approach, but just a simple Mana Leak , Dovin's Veto , or Syncopate can greatly aid you in stopping some non creature things you don't want to happen Dismiss can also be rather spicy as it's just the 2 most common choices of Cryptic Command locked together.

Demarge Thanks so much for your advice. I like the board wipes and Narset. I will definitely be getting Narset and Ponder. Your other advice was great, but just out of my price range.

yeah I did try to keep card prices on the budget side ( Supreme Verdict and Terminus are just bombs compared to Day of Judgment ) it is worth kind of noting that tappedout's price hover over picks the middle to high end of price ranges and since I wasn't going to put the exact printing data in it picked some of the pricier printings so you could easily nab some of these as an addon to another order (because shipping on just a $0.25 card is silly).

But I do follow the heavy budget restrictions some players have, I still have sleeved up A big pile of green that I built long ago with a $15 total value goal in mind at the time (still surprised at what happened to Triumph of the Hordes )

Demarge Do you think Narset is a sideboard card or a main deck card. Also do you think Ludevic's Test Subject  Flip is a good win condition?

Maybe one main deck and one sideboard?
