Land (1)

I liked Portcullis. So heres a deck around it. It uses ETB exile effects to keep your opponents fields under control while waiting to drop the Portcullis. Once the Portcullis is out, each of your ETB exile creatures become even better. By stacking the triggers properly you are capable of removing the targets forever.

When portcullis is out and theres the max creatures in play, you can cast an ETB creature and since you are the controler of the abilities, you determine stack order. So for example, you cast Tidehollow Sculler, when it enters the battlefield, two abilities go on the stack and you choose the order, you put Tidehollow Scullers card exile ability on the stack first, then put Portculliss ability on second. Once Portculliss ability resolves, Tidehollow Scullers leave play ability goes on the stack, with its ETB ability still on the stack underneath it. The Scullers leaves the battlefield resolves, but it has not exiled anything yet, so there is nothing to return to the players hand. Then its time for the final ability on the stack to resolve, the exile target card from the hand ability, which once it does, there is no way for the player to get the card back since the ability that would have done so is already resolved. You can also use these trigger tricks with things like flickerwisp or any other creature bounceing/removing creature. Portcullis checks how many creatures are in play when it resolves too, so if you exile their creature when yours comes in and theres only two creatures when it resolves, you get to keep yours.

Flickerwisp and Leonin Relic Warder also allow you to bounce the Port in order to flood the field with your creatures before it ruturns at EOT to keep your opponant locked out of creatures.
