Kederekt Leviathan could be considered another win-con with how well it locks up the board. At worst it's a slightly worse Cyclonic Rift with a body and Unearth. At best it's a repeatable 3 mana instant speed boardwipe Kederekt Leviathan + Necromancy .

I've tried Jin-Gitaxias, Core Augur. My main problem with it is it would usually punish one or two players to my left, and then die. I tend to prefer symmetrical effects as they make less enemies. Entomb is a recent addition so I may try Jin-Gitaxias again though.

Hermit Druid combo has always been one of my considerations, but it'd require a pretty big (expensive) deck overhaul. I can envision a version of this deck focused on disgusting Protean Hulk and Phyrexian Delver combos, but that's really not this version. I just want to hold 50 cards and feel like a Timmy right now.

Yeah I could see that. I guess Meren has never been that problematic for me because I usually play alot of cards that hose general focused decks. In Mardu I play Crackling Doom, Angel of Serenity, and Terminus on her. In BUG I use mass bounce effects like Kederekt Leviathan + Necromancy ,Terastodons of my own to kill excessive ramp, mass flipping like Ixidron, steal cards like Gilded Drake, and cheap non targeted removal like Toxic Deluge. Meren has always been a good matchup for me but I can see how she would be difficult for a lot of decks given her consistency. Keep hating man. I love making Meren players salty :-)

I feel you on the fetches. I do have to say from holding out myself for a while that they are worth every penny. I have most the ones that were reprinted now in khans and they significantly increase the consistency of your early game, thin your deck for better mid to late game draws, and allow you to do shenanighans like drawing 4 cards a turn for 2 mana with Bloodghast + Skullclamp . Plus the ability to shuffle away bad top decks is extremely important. As for the artifacts overall top is better and it fits in more playstyles. However, for some builds I prefer Rack since it can do great things with cards like Necropotence and Land Tax, but after extensive playing I wouldn't use Land Tax outside a boros or mono white build. It is just underwhelming Imo. Also if you need to put a card from your hand on top of your library. Generals like Sidisi, Brood Tyrant and Narset, Enlightened Master are better served by rack tham top.

Anyways would you be willing to take a look at my competitive Sidisi deck and give me some feedback? I am using a number of proxies (Imperial seal!) but the goal is to disrupt opponents early i.e. turn 2 Flash + Terastodon or Kederekt Leviathan + Necromancy and then combo off in the mid to late game.

NoOneOfConsequence If I was making an "optimized" list I would almost never build only around my commander's abilities because it is way too predictable. To me an optimized deck compliments, but is not dependent upon, the commander (personal opinion). So no matter what your opponent does they don't have a sure response to anything you do. With that being said, Sidisi and Meren are all about reanimation at their core. Sidisi puts stuff in the yard while producing sac fodder and Meren puts whats in your yard back on the field or in your hand. Both are creature heavy decks by necessity. In my opinion, Sidisi is better simply because there are significantly more competitive cards that do what Meren does well than what Sidisi does well. More complementary options in the 99, leads to consistency, which ultimately wins games. Moreover, the clones, top deck manipulation, additional tutors, utility creatures, countermagic, and nasty reanimation targets blue provides allows even an unoptimized sidisi deck to consistenly dominate anything the best of golgari builds can do on its own. This is coming from someone that loves black/ green and hates blue. Golgari cannot repeatedly Kederekt Leviathan + Necromancy the board until an answer to your strategy is found. While as degenerate and infinitely annoying this combo is, it does not even scratch the surface of what blue adds to a reanimator strategy.
