Heart-Piercer Bow

Artifact — Equipment

Whenever equipped creature attacks, Heart-Piercer Bow deals 1 damage to target creature defending player controls.

Equip (: Attach this to target creature you control. Equip only as a sorcery. This enters the battlefield unattached and stays on the battlefield if the creature this card is attached to leaves the battlefield.)

Helm of the Host triggers at the beginning of combat, not when a creature attacks. So, since the beginning of combat is a step and it comes before the declare attackers step it will always go on the stack and resolve before attackers are declared. Helm of the Host's trigger is also unaffected by Isshin since it triggers on a step starting and not on a creature attacking. Heart-Piercer Bow triggers when equipped creature is declared as an attacker. It will therefore trigger on the declare attackers step and be affected by Isshin's ability.

I was planning on using Isshin, Two Heavens as One, Heart-Piercer Bow and Helm of the Host and I wanted to double check their interactions. Would they all trigger simultaneously on attack or could I choose Helm then Heart piercer or vice versa?

I looked at Heart-Piercer Bow , but sadly it's the equipment doing the damage, not the creature it's attached to. Otherwise it would be great.

First strike makes sense, but I would probably swing at hexproof or shroud creature when I have regeneration in hand. I think that effectively does the same thing.

I LOVE Nessian Boar ! I didn't know he was a thing. Same with Nemesis Mask - those are both great includes.

Vigor is a really awesome card. I hate it, but it works XD. I'll probably put it in.

Thanks so much for the help! I'm looking forward to building this IRL so I can murder my friends when they're winning too much.

Heart-Piercer Bow takes out a creature on attack instead of by tapping.

If your creatures have Deathtouch try to give them First Strike. Direct damage from pinging won't work on the guys with Hexproof or Shroud (which is almost always a problem).

One good attack should finish off an opponent with poison damage as long as you don't get blocked. Nessian Boar , Nemesis Mask , Noble Quarry etc.

Vigor means you don't lose guys from being blocked or blocking. Really hard to NOT put Vigor in a green deck for me. Price ranges from 5 to 15 bucks though

Challenge: This is a multi-part challenge for more than one contributor. Part 1: Create a permanent card that searches for a card by name after some kind of condition is met. The card you're designing is one part of a two or three-part combo. Don't design the card being searched for, but instead let that be Part 2 of this challenge, to be done by someone else. You may add whatever you like to the conditions of Part 2, and you can even give that card a name because your artifact refers to it by name.

Inspiration for this comes from Bubbling Cauldron, Festering Newt, and Bogbrew Witch, or Sword of Kaldra, Shield of Kaldra, and Helm of Kaldra, or Renowned Weaponsmith with Vial of Dragonfire and Heart-Piercer Bow.

You need more reliable ways to deal with Torpor Orb , Hushwing Gryff , and Hushbringer because if they land they will make your deck quite useless. That Reclamation Sage in your hand would love to blow up Torpor Orb... too bad it doesn't work anymore. Good spot removal like Abrupt Decay , Beast Within , Return to Nature , Assassin's Trophy , etc. These are ESSENTIAL for a Yarok deck because the above cards really do wreck you.

Yarok has deathtouch so abuse it. Viridian Longbow , Thornbite Staff , and Heart-Piercer Bow let Yarok take out creatures on board easily.

You might want to invest in some lower cost mana ramp options like 1 CmC mana dorks and some more of the 2 CmC draw creatures. This ism aninly to lower your mana curve and let you go off a bit faster.

Seems like you have no early-game plays, and low power. Your artifacts aren't doing you much, especially Heart-Piercer Bow and Vial of Dragonfire . There's a reason Renowned Weaponsmith isn't OP, and it's because he fetches absolute garbage. There are other low-cost artifacts you can get that will help your gameplan and still help Shimmer Dragon (who really isn't worth the build-around), so search around and find a few you like.

itsbuzziThats fair and i realised that later after thinking about it for a while, but i use Heart-Piercer Bow mainly to just deal 1 damage, if i attach it to a deathtoucher then it will deal 1 damage and also my deathtoucher will then do what it does if the opponent decides to defend. Otherwise i can always equip it to a flier like Vilis, Broker of Blood and use his spell ability and Heart-Piercer Bow to destroy any flying creature that tries to defend against Vilis before his attack goes through..... for example.
