Chaos Harlequin

Creature — Human

(Red): Remove the top card of your library from the game. If that card is a land card, Chaos Harlequin gets -4/-0 until end of turn. Otherwise, Chaos Harlequin gets +2/+0 until end of turn.

ChaosJester on Ronald McDonald Theme deck HELP!

Hey guys, I am about to create a Chaos Harlequin deck in combination with Orcish Spy . Can someone help me building around it? This will be a casual deck and I already thought about cards like Jester's Mask , Jester's Cap and Jester's Scepter but I am not sure yet. A further question is, which other color I should run with those cards. Blue/green could be interesting due to Ponder, Portent , Natural Selection . Also Elemental Augury could be interesting. Thank you in advance!

Possible deck shell:

4x Chaos Harlequin, 4x Lantern of Insight, 4x Soldevi Digger, 3x Darksteel Pendant, 3x Distortion Strike, 3x Slip Through Space, some draw spells, some counterspells, some rituals like Pyretic Ritual or Desperate Ritual, some burn spells, and some land.

One place I would start is Lantern of Insight to always know the top card of your deck. Add Crystal Ball or Darksteel Pendant (or both) to put the lands on the bottom of your library to avoid weakening the Chaos Harlequin. All of these are either constant or reusable, so you don't have to rely on cards like Portent. Also, keep in mind that the Harlequin exiles cards--they don't go into the graveyard. One final thought for the moment, if you're trying to make this a single-attack "alpha strike" deck, you absolutely need ways to make the Harlequin unblockable (Slip Through Space, for example) and ways to protect it (Mizzium Skin or other hexproof era).

I've been playing since 1996 and I have literally no idea what you actually want to do here...I see what chaos harlequin does but I don't see what the "synergies" do. Everything these "combos" do would require tons of coloured mana, you would probably need a trick for infinite mana to be able to kill at all. And then there are better tricks to do with infinite mana.

What is the Ball Lightning supposed to do with Chaos Harlequin and Coffin Queen?I think you confuse removing something from the game (exile) with putting it into the graveyard!

GobboE on Loses Indestructible: a new Red …

Personally, I admit it, I really like playing Red. Though I do think that in many sets there was an overly focus on the chaotic nature of red to the extend that one could think it was the only defining characteristic (looking at Chaos Harlequin). Unjust I think. Yes red is chaotic, nor should it not be. But it is also fire, heat, passionate, impulsive, aggressive, strength, earth, lightning, etc... The latest sets have made red a bit more balanced (at least, I hope to think so) .

True: Red doesn't have many tutor spells (and the one it has mostly have adrawback). But I think that Red could also do with draw (without drawbacks) . But against an indestrucible creature (in particular Eldrazi, or some indestructible artifact) suddenly Red strength also becomes its weakness: it deals damage...it destroys...while at times it also needs to evaporate stuff I think (and by this I don't mean the very weak Evaporate card :) ).
