StoryArcher on Mono-Red Land Destruction

I know that G/R is the most popular land destruction format and that there's a good reason why - ramp is beautiful - but I find the following factors come into play:
1) Mixed land bases will slow you down by a turn as often as they speed you up by a turn. I can't build decks off of ideal draws, and mono-red not only allows for an easy mana-curve but also lets me put in more sources of colorless mana like Darksteel Citadel and Field of Ruin.
2) Reliance on creature-mana makes me more vulnerable to hurting myself with board wipes which I generally prefer to have as an option.
3) Filling up the deck with ramp leaves a lot less room for removal and actual land-destruction, so you can start off like gang-busters and then suddenly peter out with an empty hand. I really enjoy the effectiveness of Orcish Spy + Millstone, but that's 8 more cards I'd need to find room for to go with the ramp, removal and land destruction.
Having said all that, I'm actually experimenting with mono-green land destruction as well (see Mwonvuli Takeover) and so far it's been a lot of fun.
StoryArcher on Mono Red Land Destruction as it was supposed to be

In the current meta of players sacrificing land and injuring themselves to dig more lands out of their deck, I feel like this kind of deck has tremendous potential. I'll be testing out my own in a competitive environment very soon, using an old land-filtering trick developed during my Ice Age days - Orcish Spy + Millstone. Have a look at my deck to get a few more ideas - I've linked the budget version below, though obviously including Chandra, Torch of Defiance, Koth of the Hammer and Blood Moon are all excellent adds.

StoryArcher on Mono-Green Land Control

I really appreciate the advice, guys, all of you - thanks!
I'll look into that reddit group. I've always loved land control as a strategy, all the way back to my old Fallen Empires days. I keep bouncing back and forth between mono-green and mono-red, the latter utilizing a personal combo that I never see (Orcish Spy + Millstone) but is devastatingly effective.

Thanks for the head's up. I've been meaning to re-visit this deck for some time. I made some changes to it based on what Eduardo Barrinhos has done. I can't consider it budget anymore, but I'm very excited to try it out.
I still think that the Orcish Spy + Millstone combo is a potent and under-utilized option.

I've been working on a mono-red land destruction strategy. My ideal version of the deck is a little too pricey (see Fulminator Mage, Blood Moon and Surgical Extraction, but at the moment the budget version seems to be doing just fine. The lock-down mechanic is an old trick from my Ice Age days, where I use Orcish Spy and Millstone to filter the land (and whatever else) from my opponent's draw. Its got some other tricks in there too, but I'm always looking for outside thoughts. Check it out:

ChaosJester on Ronald McDonald Theme deck HELP!
Hey guys, I am about to create a Chaos Harlequin deck in combination with Orcish Spy . Can someone help me building around it? This will be a casual deck and I already thought about cards like Jester's Mask , Jester's Cap and Jester's Scepter but I am not sure yet. A further question is, which other color I should run with those cards. Blue/green could be interesting due to Ponder, Portent , Natural Selection . Also Elemental Augury could be interesting. Thank you in advance!
