In this post, Mark Rosewater stated that the ability to block additional creatures (as seen on Avatar of Hope and similar creatures) is a 10 on the storm scale, meaning that it is highly unlikely to return in a standard-legal set, because the ability does not do well in digital formats, but I am very displeased with that reasoning, since this game was physical long before it was digital, and discontinuing a mechanic in the physical game because it plays poorly in the digital game is outrageous, in my mind, so I do hope that WotC shall eventually change their stance on this matter, as I am very fond of that mechanic, and I am certain that other players, are as well.

What does everyone else here say, about this subject? Are you also displeased at the reason for WotC not reusing the mechanic of blocking additional creatures? I certainly am interested to hear your thoughts, on this matter.

One card I think your deck will absolutely benefit from is Hundred-Handed One. He plays on curve, and can become Monstrous relatively easily. There is also Avatar of Hope, Entangler, Guardian of the Gateless, Ironfist Crusher, Palace Guard, Thoughtweft Trio and Wall of Glare.

I see you have Guardian of the Gateless and Palace Guard but the others could be added for more oomph.

The first part O believe could be reworded as you said. Only thing that's different is the creatures must have each mana value 8, so 3 Avatar of Hope as an example.

The thing with the "while phased out" is just to emulate ot having XYZ material, not necessarily because something can abuse it.

Whenever a creature with deathtouch blocks or is blocked by ~, destroy that creature.

~ may block any number of creatures

I cheated, but I thought it would be cool to see a creature mimic Mirror Shield, and you've got to throw some Avatar of Hope in there.

Woops!

For some reason I thought of Unearth as an instant... Regardless, my point still stands true. I believe that for the cost Orzhov Charm provides more value with the amount of cheeky plays you can do with it.

Avatar of Hope is an interesting potential addition. It could definitely be a sideboard consideration against something like Elves, Goblins, or Affinity.

Regardless, I like the current spot the deck is in. On my end, I'm not interested in revamping the the deck at all. :)

Just sharing so people can take a look and see an unorthodox/interesting build!

Unearth is a sorcery, Orzhov Charm is an instant, what were you trying to say?

Also consiedring the colors you play, and the speed you aim to close on low, you might want to test Avatar of Hope, this is one of the few decks with reasonable chances to get it discounted early.

And its probably the best blocker the deck can hope for.

When a creature is blocked by multiple creature, the attacking player choose a damage assignment order (DAO), i.e. how much damage will be dealt and in what order. Likewise, if a creature blocks multiple creatures (such as Avatar of Hope), the defending player chooses a damage assignment order after the attacking player has chosen their DAO.

Banding adjusts this slightly. When the second DAO is chosen, the attacking player chooses it not the defending player.

So for your example, you'll choose how much damage each creature in your band will deal to each blocking creature. Then, you'll choose where the damage from your opponent's creatures will go.

One thing to bare in mind, trampling damage over is optional.

Hope this helps!!

That would be Arguel's Blood Fast  Flip(Flipped) and/or the above mentioned Timely Reinforcements . Again if I wanted to be competitive, I'd drop the Avatar of Hope entirely and rum a playset of both Death's Shadow and Jace, Vryn's Prodigy  Flip. But this ismore about having fun building and maybe having playing with your friends or at your local FNM than about winning GPs.
