One Thousand Lashes . Thoroughly in color, fits a "theme", and lets us ping our opponent if we're sitting on our blockers.

Like removal, only bonus damage, and it's an aura in case we're trying to enhance Ethereal Armor .

Grabbing the Double Stab Wound and this is just rediculous. I'm kind of wondering where all the Grisly Spectacle s are. I'm guessing we're not the only one in B removal.

Seems pretty obvious at this point. It counts as removal, and has a bonus effect that helps us win.

It's probably too much to hope that Skyblinder Staff comes back around... Would be so pretty on our angels.
I suspect players immediately upstream from us are in black, but are not playing Orzhov. We did a fairly good job of cutting white in the first round. I don't think we're going to get the black removal I was hoping for.

I simply think that this is the best choice for us. It supports our stall and ping theme. The other choice is Mugging, but I think that this is overall better.

Mugging
is one of those cards that gets less looks than it deserves because of its ability to shut down a blocker or remove a utility creature.
It's still not the best pick here, though. Just less loved than it could be.

@landgrafb I usually jump for joy at mugging. and have splashed red into my simic decks in GTC-GTC-GTC drafts just for two copies of that card many times, but alas, it is not meant for this pick.

Waiting on other drafters, so stay patient while people with more difficult packs sort 'em out.
Personally I have no idea what the fuss is about here; Skygames is obviously the best card in the pack.
Other than Island, of course.

@jkarnes that seems plausible. Rakdos is also possible. Though we didn't see much that was good in red in the first round.
While we may get cut from pure black removal, I still have hope that we can pull Executioner's Swing .

Our deck will kill in nibbles rather than bites. Mugging is nice but in this format 2 damage isn't going to do the job. Personally I like Pit Fight more than mugging.

Soz, I may be trolling here, but Skyblinder Staff has won me games... The amount of fliers we've drafted, the amount it 'costs' to play and then equip, we essentially have an unblockable flier on the field.... Perhaps it comes back around to us, but if it doesn't, we need to be wary of the play that puts a large creature on the field and equips this staff so our fliers can't block it....

Our Angelic Skirmisher pretty much doesn't care if they can get in with one flyer a turn. We can just gain that life right back if it becomes an issue.
