Combo ideas: How to Break Instill Energy

Instill Energy has a lot of potential in a Legacy deck. Any thoughts on how to combo the face off it?

Ah that "Only once a turn" crap -_- I was wondering how nobody discovered that for elves yet until I read that, haha.

Although, Priest of Titania and Elvish Archdruid could severely benefit from this card

Wouldn't hurt Knight of the Reliquary either! I could just imagine;

P2: Show and Tell into an Emrakul, the Aeons Torn whilst opponent plays Knight of the Reliquary .

P1: Knight of the Reliquary 's effect to fetch Karakas , bounce their creature, play Instill Energy untap itself and swing with a KotR that's even bigger than it was earlier that turn. Although that's in a perfect scenario with my noggin', haha

Try and find creatures with interesting activated abilities that require tapping and try to break them :)

You could use Orzhov Charm to bounce it and say...Axebane Guardian to your hand?

Seems bad in elves, if only because its not a creature and does tap for mana in and of itself. Also, the classic aura 2 for 1 argument. Imho, it doesn't really have legacy potential, at least in the areas mentioned so far. If you're going to have a two card combo (which this is), it should probably be Show and Tell + Griselbrand and the like.

Use big guys like Colossus of Sardia , Deep-Slumber Titan , Dormant Gomazoa , Grimgrin, Corpse-Born , and many more like that. Or you could try to abuse abilities like Merieke Ri Berit , Avatar of Woe , Intrepid Hero , or many other here too. Here is where I found the tap ability guys. http://forums.mtgsalvation.com/showthread.php?t=495399

This card would have been broken many years ago if it could. It is a solid card, just not one I see as breakable. It can be very useful, and strong though.

@Blakkhand I wouldn't say Show and Tell + Griselbrand is the only option for two card combos (Although I actually had 45 out of the 60 cards I needed for a Sneak and Show deck... I love that combo, although..). Personally, I'm finding Thespian's Stage + Dark Depths to be a powerful thing after the Legend-Rule Change. With all the cheap land tutors, this deck (named Maritocracy I believe) plays like a Vintage deck. Creates a 20/20 flying hulk at the end of their turn, then POW.

Also Painter's Servant + Grindstone has been a successful 2-card combo deck for ages now.

There's plenty of stuff out there really, I think the combo of choice is up to the player. I give him props for trying to find his own combo really, not enough people try to be original

Sorry for the misunderstanding, I merely meant to use S&T as an example of legacy viable 2 card combos.

Not a problem man, and hopefully I didn't sound rude, I tend to do that on accident sometimes. It is a very viable combo that actually reserves hate-spots in people's sideboard. Just like Dredge and Storm.
