Bring back the early game —Oct. 20, 2014

I found that i was having trouble with my early game even though i really shouldn't. Also i found that the games i won, i ended up winning with fling so Eon Hub wasn't even needed 90% of the time, so i decided to change 4x Eon Hub with 4x Ash Zealot, they're a scary early game threat that seems to be working quite nicely

@Colgate Those are really good suggestions, but the only issue would be that at the moment the deck is Mono Red, and it would involved a lot of reworking with mana so that i could get them in the deck. Thanks for your comment :)

I feel your deck will never win without Eon Hub . You will be very hesitant to play your creatures without it knowing you have to deal with you upkeep. Have you considered running draw discard effects to filter your deck in the process? Browbeat is cool (expensive) or Faithless Looting is another reliable option with flashback or just simply Goblin Lore .

Also if you wanted to play only casual and proxy you could run 4 Wheel of Fortune

I'm thinking you may want some Generator Servant in there because turn 3 Eon Hub turn 4 big fatty + Messenger's Speed seems good

@Jonrempel Sounds like a good idea, shall give it a test

Would Fling be useful? In case Eon Hub isn't on the field or is destroyed, you can remove your fatties before your upkeep.

@Xinofos i like your idea, i'll test it out, and see what it's like. Cheers

This is the first time i've seen anyone with a deck that runs Phyrexian Soulgorger other than mine!! (http://tappedout.net/mtg-decks/soulcaller/)

Love it!

You should maybe run some for cards that give haste like fervor or hammer of purphoros

First off, you might consider cards that utilize your graveyard. In the event you send your nasties there, having a way of bringing them back or dealing damage by exiling them, etc would be a nice bonus.

RE: weaknesses: Obviously, any opponents of this deck are going to want to do at least one of 2 things: Gain life or remove your nasties. I can do both with my deck: Stak-a-trix. Another way around this deck would be Phyrexian Unlife +Melira, Sylvok Outcast +Alpha Authority which is in my deck: Melira's Exploits - it's also got Cauldron Haze for extra staying power. Given the right conditions, my Ally deck Buddy Buddy can infinite combo a victory against this deck, too, gaining life, milling, drawing cards, and getting huge creatures.

I like this deck, though. I'd love to face off against it. +1

I strongly recommend Mass Hysteria over Messenger's Speed. It makes you not have to save an extra mana for when you play guys, and it doesn't die when your creatures do. It gives your opponents' creatures haste, too, but when you're running 7/6s and 8/8s for three mana, you'll outrace them pretty easily.

smackder says... #23

@ClockworkSwordfish Mass Hysteria was in version 1 of this deck, trust me i don't want it in the deck, it fucked me over too many times. Seems good on paper, but Mass Hysteria is 'All' creatures so it allows for the opponents to ruin you after after my big 8/8 has been sacrificed etc...
