The saddest thing ever [potentially clickbait] —Jan. 2, 2022

Well. The inner perfectionist in me has died. I cut Gruul Signet for Talisman of Conviction--but didn't follow suit for the rest of the Signets/Talismans. Honestly finding it a little hard to look at myself in the mirror now.

You had the opportunity to call your custom category "eggstra Triggers" but didn't. I feel like this is a massive oversight.

More so than you could ever know, enpc. I will eternally suffer for these sins

I like the version of the deck. Nice to see someone else being picky with mainly big creatures for Atla. Couple things to take a look at as options. Ramp: Have you considered running the Talismans since once you have her out all you need is the colorless? Extra eggs or triggers: One of my new favorite toys for Atla is Shields of Velis Vel , hilarious response to a board wipe. Maskwood Nexus makes all your creatures Eggs... winning. Instill Energy gives nice value for untap. Then there is Thornbite Staff to let you get every creature out with Ashnod's Altar . Last suggestion is to fix the top with Scroll Rack . Take a look at my Atla and let me know what you think, working on a write up for it in the next week or so one I can get a few moregames in with it... very different plan to win. Atla’s Enchanting Eggs

Pennieman hi! Thanks for the suggestions, let me go through one by one...

The Talismans are indeed powerful cards, but I don't need more ramp for this deck and they aren't as powerful (IMO) as the signets in 3+ color decks.

Shields of Velis Vel sure is funny, but I'd rather not have one-off effects that rely on my opponent to do something to work.

Maskwood Nexus looked exciting when it was previewed--it's just a lot of mana, and I don't want to sacrifice most of my creatures on the off chance I get a better one. Not good gameplay.

Instill Energy is just another Nature's Chosen , and I decided Chosen is better. If I find an opening I might double up and add Instill, but it's not looking likely RN.

Thornbite Staff is super-duper powerful, no question. However, I'm not running any infinite combos in this deck ATM, and I don't want to add any for the time being.

Scroll Rack always crosses my mind when I'm thinking of cards to pick up--but since it only gives me pseudo-draw I don't think it's worth having the extra synergy with Atla. In the department of stacking my deck, I'm still not sure to what power level I want to take this deck... but when I do, I'll figure out how much of that I need. And who knows? Maybe the Rack will go in then :)

I'll take a look at your build sometime today, thanks so much for taking the time to comment on mine!

Hey you all! We just hit our upvote goal of 50! I'm going to follow up on my promise and *gulp* write a breakdown as to why I chose every nonbasic card in this deck.

You can expect to see the update by tonight/tomorrow morning

Thanks for all the support, it means a lot :)

April 1, 2021 4:15 p.m.

P3t310000 means everything to hear that! Just know that you might need to buy a calculator if you add Moraug, Fury of Akoum + Pathbreaker Ibex ;)

As someone that is regularly following your changes on this list (Atla Palani is one of my favourite commanders), I would appreciate a log of your changes, even if you don't have the time to develop on why you made it.

By thr way, the addition of Angel of destiny is an intereting turn to this list !

May 17, 2021 4:21 a.m.

Demonarque It means the world to me that you're following along with my Atla journey (she really is great, isn't she)!

I certainly don't remember all the changes I've made to the deck since I first made it 8 months ago--but better late than never to start writing things down, eh?

Glad ya like the Angel, I wasn't sure if that was a Stroke of Genius or a Muddling of the Mixture ;)

May 17, 2021 1:12 p.m.

27 cards left to add to the ""explanation for every card" category of the primer... I haven't been deckcycling Atla as much as of late because I don't really want people to see the primer in a state of construction, but it's gonna take another month-ish to finish so whatever

Thanks for the continued support everyone!

This looks super fun! I might need to mention it to my friend who plays Ghired, Conclave Exile . He's a bit of a red/green freak who isn't adverse to white, and the fun theme and broken plays might warm his Timmy heart! On the other hand, my other friend is tired of playing Kalamax, the Stormsire , and this might just be aggressive and interesting enough for him to take up next (he is looking for a new deck). If I ever build a Naya deck I might think about it as well!

May 28, 2021 7:44 p.m.

Hiya Guerric! This is definitely the deck that I would choose if I could suggest one to everyone who plays the game, I can't recommend it enough!

Thanks for the +1 and kind words :3

Allllriiiighty. Finished up the Explanation section--only took me like fifteen years! But it's all done now, and even in alphabetical order (I went so long with just going in a random order... the Sunk-Cost Fallacy is quite a force to be reckoned with).

If you ever wonder why a particular card is in the deck, there should be a suitable explanation for why it works and what it does up there in the primer.

Happy May 30th y'all

One of my favorite things to do with Atla is run Mirror Entity , put 100 Triggers on the stack where X = 0.

As long as Atla has 1 counter you cheat out all the creatures in your deck, which is even more fun when you run Purphoros, God of the Forge

May 31, 2021 11:23 p.m.

davidsays1 I dismissed Mirror Entity a while ago when I decided I wanted primarily multi-function creatures, but perhaps I should reconsider! Ideally my creatures won't be dying in the first place, but things happen. I'll do some playtesting.

Thanks for the comment!

I must immediately purchase some eggs for I need to have breakfast and without the eggs I cannot have the breakfast that I so require - Mojo Jojo

I tried to theory craft Atla Palani, Nest Tender once, but like Mojo I found that I needed two-for-one eggs. I added a secondary shapeshifter chain, Birthing Pod , Natural Order and the like. I got the two-for-one eggs I was looking for, but every breakfast thereafter tasted exactly the same.

Curses!

For a nutritious eggs primer fun is the minimum requirement. Upvote for not stopping one shy of the fun that you need.

For you, and forever, Azi

June 9, 2021 12:26 a.m.

Azielle kind of you to reciprocate the upvote!

Atla has a penchant for cooking her eggs the same way every time, but some among us don't mind. I am, sine any judgement, not one of those people.

I remain staunch in my opinion that having fun is pretty cool, and it's great to be reminded that I'm not alone in that. Thank you.

Eternally indebted, Omni

I love this! Your budget version is good too, and the update, "I think I just broke this deck" made me laugh. Very nice deck you have here. We need 35 more upvotes to go. Keep em coming guys!

That's so sweet of you, KITTYMANHunkGTI!

I've spent a lot of time on this deck, it means a lot to have people appreciate my efforts. Thanks again!

Omniscience_is_life You are very welcome. All of your decks are awesome! Keep on building!

So, as far as a direct upgrade with current tech, I'd suggest you replace Summoner's Egg with Maskwood Nexus , which both makes all your creatures into Eggs, and taps to make more eggs.

July 27, 2021 10:17 a.m.

sabisia hello! Nexus has been recommended many times, but I fear it's a little too slow in the egg production, and I'd rather not sac one of my creatures at a shot for a better one--especially when I could get a worse one! It only works against a boardwipe, but that's too narrow IMO. Thanks for the comment!

Wow, this has got to be the most comprehensive primer I've read here. It alone is worth the up vote. Then you have this incredible deck! Thanks for spending all the time explaining each and every detail. It sounds like you have an expert's understanding of all the goings-on. I think this would be a really fun deck to throw together. I'll definitely consider it now that I'm getting back into MTG again after an extended hiatus. Thanks for the inspiration!
