Recently while I was playing on MTG Arena I came across Grinning Ignus and it seemed that this could be a good combo piece. I was sitting there thinking how I could make this infinite, and I remembered Birgi, God of Storytelling Flip was also in standard. Together these two create infinite ETB and infinite LTB. Now all I had to do was add Terror of the Peaks to win. In historic you have more options like Corpse Knight and Grapeshot that cost much less. I made a deck around this combo here. I have never seen this played in MTG Arena at all. Has everyone missed it because it seems somewhat decent?

You need more ramp since you have a lot of expensive cards. For ramp you need: Arcane Signet , Charcoal Diamond , Jet Medallion , Nyx Lotus , Dark Ritual , Culling the Weak , Wayfarer's Bauble , Bubbling Muck . Take out Ugin, the Ineffable . I don't know why you have it, there are hardly enough colorless cards to make it effective. Also take out Josu Vess, Lich Knight , Abhorrent Overlord , and a couple more expensive cards that cost 6+ cmc. You also need to change your boardwipes. They are far too expensive to be effective. Trade Necromantic Selection for Shadows' Verdict , Deadly Tempest for Mutilate , Oblivion Stone for Soul Shatter . I would suggest Decree of Pain for Damnation or Toxic Deluge considering the deck price. Other cards to consider adding: Swiftfoot Boots , Defile , Phyrexian Arena , Sign in Blood , Read the Bones , Night's Whisper . Since you are already running good sac outlets, Exsanguinate and Torment of Hailfire consider adding an Infinite Mana Combo. Make these changes and the deck will be much faster and more competitive.

I have a Narset, Enlightened Master commander (Narset Turns). I right now in the deck have Omniscience , hoping to cast it for free with Narset's ability. However, I am thinking maybe Cyclonic Rift is better as it clears away blockers so Narset doesn't die. What do you think?

5: Counterspell - Nothing really to say here. Counters a spell for 2 mana and under no conditions. Decent card, have it in many of my decks with blue in it. It is the most affordable.
4: Pact of Negation - Non-conditional and can be easily bluffed, but you are limited to using it later in the game when you have the mana to pay for it. Plus if you only have 5 mana at the time, you won't be able to do much on your turn.
3: Force of Negation - Conditional so it can't always be cast for free and it only targets noncreature spells, but extremely powerful when used on an opponent's turn to stop one of their plays or protect something of yours. Plus, it will be very easy to bluff having this counterspell, and also gives the added benefit of exiling.
2: Mana Drain - Counters a spell for 2 mana under no conditions, and most likely repays itself and gives you more mana to cast things. Can easily put you ahead in the game.
1: Force of Will - Same thing as Force of Negation but better, because it can counter any type of spell and it can be cast for free on your turn as well. Easily the best counterspell in the game. One life is a small drawback, and you will most likely have a blue card in hand to exile.
