I saw the Thing Ascension deck and was intrigued. It looked super fun to play, could combo off into ridiculous amounts of card draw and mana but was still pretty resilient against hate. Exactly my kind of deck! Unfortunately, the UWR mana base made it too pricey for a budget player like me. So I took to brewing.

The first thing was to eliminate white altogether. Why pour hundreds of dollars into fetches and shocks, and the only (mainboard) payoff is Lightning Helix?

The second thing I did was to add Bedlam Reveler because, well, VALUE.
