Chain reaction might still kill Kor Firewalker. The way I learned it, is that a creature cannot be targeted by a color they have protection from. Chain reaction is dealing the damage, but I'm not sure that counts as targeting. Might want to check that out.

Kor Firewalker won't be harmed; it isn't getting targeted, but however it's also taking damage from a red source, in which all the damage will be prevented.
