This deck stands out from the rest of the RDWs that i've seen because the core cards are there and it doesnt revolve around Sin Prodder or Abbot of Keral Keep. I can still enjoy the benefits of Abbot from Sanguinary Mage.

I don't know what to sub for Sin Prodder though. Any suggestions?

Sanguinary mage was just the card I'll suggest for replacing abbot. In the draft I mentioned that I played last friday I drafted 2 of them. it's really strong as when you manage to hit opponents life while having masquerade on board the creature easly evades from a great number of removals (combined the counters with the prowess you can easly evade from a lightning axe for exemple.)

Replacing Sin Prodder is a little more difficult. Maybe you should use 2 more Incorrigible youths and the fourth Tormenting Voice.

But be aware that this replacments reduces a lot the consistence of the dack, as you are removing 7 cards that helps with mid game gas (both, prodder and abbot, gives cards advantage an brings fuel to madness)

Another cards that you might want to use is Voldaren Duelist, another card that I used on draft and helped me a lot. Removing a blocker for 1 turn means that it's easier to hit your opponents life, sometimes giving a chance to hit with neonates, by only letting 1 blocker avaliable.

The only problem with the Duelist is that he has cmc 4, so you need 18~19 lands on your decklist to use him.

As it turns out I can deal with Sin Prodder on my budget, just not Abbot. I also don't want to rely on him too much as he rotates out once Eldritch Moon arrives...

Fair Enough!

So if you can fit prodder in your budget, use it. Maybe use only 2 copies and use another tormenting voice replacing the third one.

Prodder is the guy that you wil only cast when your opponents don't have more removals, so he'll die only if the opponent topdecks a removal. You keep putting pressure on board so forces the removals to earlier threats, then cast prodder on latter turns. Playing that way, with 2 copies you might get one of them on turn 5~6 and its a good time to cast it.

think about that!

At turn 5 or 6, I'd have probably pressured the opponent into dishing out his removals by then. And yeah, topdecking a removal for Prodder will be his goal but it will not stop the others from doing their job. Incorrigible as a bomb combined with the red pump spells is a possible win-con on its own.

So r/g eldrazai ramp how do u beat it with this deck

April 19, 2016 6:50 p.m.

NestorCoelho says... #9

Sinexik, honestly, R/G ramp is the worst matchup for me. I've played against it about 5 times and I won only 1, because he didn't manage to cast Dragonlord Atarka before I swing him for lethal damage.

But fortunatly, in my local meta, nobody is using R/G ramp (:

If you have any suggestions to help me with this issue, I'll be very thankful!

Are you playing your RDW for FNM? Let me know how it goes if you do...

That deck didn't actually finish 2nd, it was a mistake by SCG. They had it down as 7-1, but it was 1-3 and then the player dropped out (it has been discussed on a few forums).

This guy, however, did do very well at an event (7th Place at StarCityGames.com Invitational Qualifier) and his deck is REALLY close to yours :)

rubenjr This deck finished 7th (which is pretty respectable). A few people have commented the land count is a bit low, but you can't argue with a top 8 finish, right? :)

The deck posted about finished 3 - 1 (placed 651 out of 751). Not snarlmkiv 's fault though, we all got confused by SCG putting up the wrong results :P

Funnily enough, snarlmkiv just showed up in the forum thread I've been using to work on my red deck (the R/X Aggro one on Salvation) :D

Aplin I double-checked and you're right. But they found issue with the ranking 2nd and the 651st as well.

And yeah, I'm stalking that forum right now and getting some insight for my deck... :D

rubenjr and Aplin

After scouring the forums, I updated my decklist and decided to run with this. Let me know what you think....

2x Chandra, Fire of Kaladesh - I played out some decent combos with the madness cards and was able to flip her on T4 during playtests.

2x Incorrigible Youths - A savage turn 4 drop with Lightning Axe or Falkenrath around.

2x Ire Shaman - T3 drop then flip next turn. - Will be subbing this one out for Sin Prodder when i get the chance.

4x Falkenrath Gorger - The bread and butter of it all.

4x Insolent Neonate - Another good card to trigger madness

4x Reckless Bushwhacker

4x Sanguinary Mage - Prowess... Another alternative to Abbot of Keral Keep

4x Lightning Axe - Feed your 1/1 for an instant 6 damage for blockers

3x Fiery Impulse - I would've gone with Exquisite Firecraft but it's not available. Still a good way to remove blockers or just go for face.

4x Fiery Temper - Everything to the face!

3x Titan's Strength - Scry!

4x Dragon Fodder - 8 goblin tokens total

2x Tormenting Voice - Draw two cards and a good play for Madness.

18x Mountain

=======

Potential maybeboards for upgrades:Cinder Glade or Game Trail

Exquisite Firecraft

Atarka's Command

Well, i've been travelling for the past 4 days, so I just read all the comments.

As I was travelling, I could not play FNM last week ( sad :/ ), but i'll play it on 30/04 and finally post some reports!

And i'm glad to see that a deck similar to mine got 7th on a bigger tournament!

April 24, 2016 5:22 p.m.

ArthurTure says... #23

I've made a deck almost the same as yours. I've just made a little change. The Four Abbots i've changed for 4 Ire Shaman for a midgame a little more powerful. And i've put away a Rush of Adrenaline for a Mountain, cause I don't have any Abbot to accelerate my land draw. The rest is the same. I will play this friday too and do you bother if i put my report here?

Thanks!

Like the deck still! Happy to hear you did well at FNM. I personally took out the Ravenous Bloodseeker's and replaced them with 1 Falkenrath Gorger and 2 Goldnight Castigator's. But I think thats just personal preference.
