Really cool deck, was wondering how it does against some of the modern staples like Twin, Affinity , Tron and Azaban. I'm looking to build a competitive modern deck and considering this one.

Twin - Easy. Enough interaction.

Abzan - Hilariously Easy. They can't deal with our threats and their threats get r3kd.

Affinity and Abzan - No testing - YET! But Jund is a good matchup.

Thanks for considering buying the deck!

Ive played vs. Tron and afinity as well as burn and bogles

rg tron fucks us up bad.

Affinity game 1 can be rough but between kataki and the stony silences i play in my board we do okay.

Burn can be messy if we lack hexproofers but game 2 its really easy to board in against them. My boards a lot different from this deck though as i play 2 chalice of the void, 1 leyline instead of the 3 fire walkers.

Bogles is a monster game 1 if you cant get a crusader on board and still isnt amazibgly favorable.

Hey thanks for the matchup comparisons. I'm still debating this deck or a Tron deck.

Also Vexton what's your list?

my list was identical to yours besides tweaks to the sideboard but I changed it slightly, cutting knights for Vendilion Clique and a Scavenging Ooze. I also changed out Sword of Feast and Famine for another Sword of Fire and Ice as U/r/X is super popular in modern as it makes up 24% of the meta according to mtg gold fish.

My list

My board explained:

2x Chalice of the Void - It stops burn and a lot of 1 drop heavy decks as well as living end and amulet bloom when set to zero. setting it to 2 means storm plain old cant win. I find its a flexible and very powerful sideboard tech that doesnt disrupt our all important three drops.

1x Rule of Law - Stop storm and living end as well as other cantrip style decks.

2x Stony Silence - these fuck up affinity royally and can disrupt tron and eggs. You kind of board out most of your swords and slide 2 thruns in and convert to a bant hexproof list when you use these.

1x Relic of Progenitus - This is mainly in here for the rare dredge deck and the fact it eats out living end, goyfs, and disrupts snapcaster lists on the cheap.

2x Spellskite - Grixis twin, Grixis delver, Grixis control, and burn make up almost 40% of the gp meta with infect trailing and this card is good against all of them and more its one of the best sideboard cards out there and is just a huge hurtle for all the top decks to beat.

2x Grafdigger's Cage - 2 words. Collected Company

1x Leyline of Sanctity - I felt chalices and spellskites were enough burn hate that this could be dialed back a bit especially with how narrow this is in the board.

1x Negate Gotta stop the karn and sylvan scryin in tron somehow. Mana Leak cant stop that much mana. also good vs. living end and the spell heavy decks making up the majority of the meta.

1x Qasali Pridemage - Good against bloodmoon, twin and control decks as it stops their disruptive artifacts/enchnatments and is another creature they need to answer.

2x Thrun, the Last Troll - Something to counter board against suspected pyroclasms and anger of the gods. also good to board in if your swords or non hexproof creatures have issues sticking in the game.

Moorland Haunt doesnt go too well with Sword of Light and Shadow, does it? Cool deck though, alot like my own.

"Student Budget Version" ran it. And it was good. But that was more of a casual deck.
