Sideboard

Sorcery (5)

Artifact (1)

Instant (4)

Creature (4)

Enchantment (1)

This deck was designed from an existing collection of cards rather than the breadth of MTG Standard. The main strategy of the deck is to enchant the opponent with as many curses as possible while maintaining a decent board presence for defense; thus winning the game through curse effects and attrition. As a result, there is a lot of room for improvement. The two key curses are Trespasser's Curse and Torment of Scarabs. Trespasser's Curse is used to deter the opponent from playing creatures while the true attrition is accomplished with Torment of Scarabs. Early choices the opponent typically makes is to lose life, but with multiple Torment of Scarabs, that choice is quickly reduced to discards and sacrificing permanents.

Update:After receiving suggestions from my friends and this community, and play-testing several drafts, I've come up with a drastic redesign of the deck. I feel it still plays to its core strategy, but now it has the ability ramp into more expensive spells, dig for cards, and manage the opponent's board-state. It also contains an alternate win condition. I wanted the deck to be flexible between games, so I designed it as a collection of packages: Curses, Ramp/AltWin, Removal, and Aggro. The Removal package is meant to be swapped with the Aggro package in the sideboard. This allows the deck to increase its tempo for match-ups where the main deck is very weak and the Removal package is basically useless (e.g Control). The main inspiration for the changes in this deck come from SBMTG's Treasure Red deck (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=F4s0l7cyi-E), Red Deck Wins, and Mono-black Aggro.
