So everyone is on the hypetrain for the gates deck thats going around, but I took my own spin on it and let temur do what temur does best...tempo. It has every gates matters card, 4 of ram, collossus, gates ablaze and guild summit but the rest of the deck, the other 21 cards is a tempo machine designed to protect and advance your onslaught and then finish off with a huge uncounterable X spell, whether it be krasis, or banefire.

Since you can drop your scariest threat on turn 3 and watch it grow every turn while still being up to defend against swingbacks, I figured the most important thing you can do is protect it. So after turn 3 your game plan is to sit back and smash face with a ram, and wait for your opponent to try something, so you can slam down a 3/2 and counter their spell. Mission Briefing is the lowkey all star of this deck as it lets us buy back crucial cards when we need them, essentially giving us 6 copies of gates ablaze if we need it, although it works well with any card in the deck. all the gates shells I've seen have been a little too all in resulting in a lot of dead draws and irrelevant creatures, nothing feels worse than needing a strong play and topdecking an open the gates, so I cut all of those. this list is designed so that you never don't have an answer or a threat.

the sideboard can make this deck a nightmare vs control matchups, with things like regensis to rebuy rams or mystics, mass manipulation to steal powerful walkers, syncopates, cindervines. since we're pretty strong vs aggro due to gates ablaze and plaza of harmony in the mainboard I felt it very important to make us beefier and grindier vs control, and so far in my matches games 2 and 3 vs esper/orzhov have been a nightmare for our opponent due to our extremely reactive playstyle counteracting theirs.
