Can Rakdos Rock be a deck in modern... Was tinkering with the idea. Not so sure of my creature selection or of the numbers. Would love some input.

So I know I want Bobby Digital & M.Bison for sure... which leaves 2 slots left... Competing for them are Vexing Devil Young Pyromancer & Pack Rat.

Also consider trading a seize or Iok for a Grim Lavamancer?

one green source for the amount in the sideboard is a little worrisome

What would u suggest? Another Overgrown Tomb or a Stomping Ground? or something else.

In my experience with other decks (such as splashing for Spellskite) 1x whatever shock is needed has been efficient.

spellskite is different as you dont need the colored mana necessarily. that being said, i dont play modern heavily so im not sure the appropriate amount of green sources or what kind you should play, i just know that tectonic edge, ghost quarter and blood moon are cards

You essentially have 9 sources of green mana...

Overgrown Tomb
4x Polluted Delta (Can search for Overgrown Tomb)
4x Bloodstained Mire (Can search for Overgrown Tomb)

You may not need more... except that a single Ghost Quarter or Tectonic Edge will be able to get rid of all Green sources.

I might suggest changing the 4x Polluted Delta into 4x Verdant Catacombs, and 1 Mountain into a Stomping Ground. - Little more resilience from possible land destruction, plus every fetch can get any 2 colors you need. (Polluted Delta wouldn't get Stomping Ground, so if you don't have the Verdant Catacombs, stick with a second Overgrown Tomb)

I actually do own some Verdant Catacombs. I was just thinking that Polluted Delta is much more obtainable to most people when I made the list & was debating between Polluted Delta and Wooded Foothills ...decided to go with the black core but the Catacombs would be the appropriate choice.

okay tweaked the mana base to your suggestion Rayenous.

What do u feel about the MB creature list?

I like 4x Bob 4x M.Bison 4x Pyromancer 4x Vexing Devil ...but Pack Rat has also been proven to win games. Devil comes online T1 Rat takes a few turns to get rollin & leaves the opponent no choice... Though I'd have an opponent waste a Path of a Devil over a Swiftspear any day. Thoughts?

I've been toying with the idea too! Here is more on an 8-rack burn hybrid: I See a Red Door and more of a mid-range build: Rakdos Modern Midrange (Both WIP with advice very much appreciated)

I think Blightning should be included in your build. For creatures I've toyed with the idea of Keldon Marauders and Falkenrath Aristocrat. Black heavy builds with Pack Rat and Phyrexian Obliterator or even burn/goblin with Goblin Guide and Goblin Rabblemaster.

I would love to see this work.

Guide is too counterproductive for the period of the game when u need it to be productive. :/ I have a Rakdos 8Rack deck but having played 8Rack, MBC, & Rock quite extensively I think it's the weakest form of MBC in modern. Rock being the strongest.

Ur build is solid but I'd tone down the removal, get some Ensnaring Bridges and beef the discard a bit

On The Rag -Rakdos's 8RΔCK- if any one wants to check my list out.
