I work at a small gamestore where I also play Magic and other games. There's two MtG groups: On Thursdays we have a group of not-so-experienced players, who aren't that used to playing Magic. Then there's the Saturday's group, in which I normally play. We usually play EDH or draft. Power levels and the deck prices are quite high because we have been playing many more years compared to the first group that I mentioned.

Sometimes, when I'm at work on a Thursday, I need to play with the not-so-seasoned group to keep them company. Yeah, I know; sometimes I have to play Magic: the Gathering as my job - What a drag. This group really isn't big into EDH and usually play 60 card decks which are quite Kitchen Table-ee and the games are played as multiplayer games most of the time. There's nothing wrong with casual Kitchen Table fun but I don't want to ruin their experience with my YEARS OF EXPERIENCE AND SUPERIOR CARD POOL - I prefer to ruin it by playing Control.

I really can't say that this is a brew because it's basically just the Azorius Guild Kit, which I bought on release day. I have made some alterations to the deck though. But I have made these alteration with a restriction in mind: I can only have two of the same non-land card. This is because I don't want to deck be as consistent as it could be. This deck also has a theme, which restricts my deck building: I only use cards that have been printed in the Ravnica sets and the cards need to be Azorius themed.

The deck plays like your standard UW control deck. There's counter spells and the other usual suspects. Then there's the sub theme of Detain creatures which I can bounce back to my hand and then recast. Lavinia of the Tenth is quite a popular gal in the playgroup. Everyone wants to interact with her. Everytime I cast her there's like eleven counter spells ready and even when she hits the Graveyard seven removal spells are placed on the Stack just be sure.

Most Importantly; this deck can lose. And when I lose, I know that I've been a decent challenge and a good learning experience.

Thanks for checking out my deck. If you have a suggestion for my deck, by all means, leave a comment.
