Spicy Soul Sisters

Sideboard

This is my take on the Soul Sisters shell. It's probably not as powerful as the normal deck, but I find the instant speed interactions to be a fun break from the monotony of the normal list.

Sejiri Refuge and Kabira Crossroads are included to add additional possibilities to trigger Pridemate and get you closer to the thresh hold of 30 for Serra Ascendant. Sejiri Refuge during game one early can also cause your opponent to play around non-existent counters, though this likely won't have any effect on the outcome of the game.

Whitemane Lion is included for creature protection and to allow you to bounce your own creatures and replay them to take advantage of the life gain from the Sisters/Pridemate synergy. He can be played as a four of, but can be a pain if he is the only creature in your hand and you are trying to rebuild post board wipe.

Rest for the Weary is great fun and likely my favorite card in the deck allowing for a bunch of nice combat tricks. Along with buffing your Pridemates at instant speed post blockers you can also use it post block if you are attacking w/ an Ascendant to put yourself over the 30 life threshold and blow out your opponents blocks, or if the Ascendant is unblocked cement your lead.

Honor allows you to keep pressure on w/ your 1/1s attacking for two (or more) a turn. A turn 2 honor of the pure followed by a spectral procession can also close out games quickly with your 2/2 evasive attackers and allows you to recover from board wipes and go back on the offensive more quickly than a spectral procession would do on its own.

The sideboard could certainly use some work, but this is what I have in my collection so it is what I run. Rest in Peace and Stony Silence get brought in for GY hate and Affinity. Sovereign is there for control match ups and because, well, he is fun. I run Solemn Offering because it advances and synergizes with the theme of the deck, allowing us to remove troublesome artifacts and enchantments while getting us closer to (or keeping us above) 30 life. Oblivion Ring for extra protection against decks that run permanents that would require it and journey to nowhere for decks that run large amounts of creatures, but get hamstrung when key pieces are removed from play.

I don't think this deck will set the meta ablaze, but if you already enjoy the soul sisters shell and want a deck with more opportunities for interaction this build might be worth a try!
