Discard that hand BOI

Overview

This deck is all about making your opponent have no fun. Seems fun, right? The mono black land base means there's no struggle to get your land, and the discard and removal power from black all come together nicely. Just in case you have a nice board wipe Bontu's Last Reckoning, and a great way to close out the game with Torment of Hailfire. All of this is wrapped up in a neat bow with the enchantment synergy of Raiders' Wake and Torment of Scarabs.

WHAT? You monster!

The main focus of this deck is to force your opponent down to very few or no cards-in-hand. This is achieved through the likes of Harsh Scrutiny, Unburden, Kitesail Freebooter, Dreamstealer. Synergize this with your Raiders' Wake and Torment of Scarabs and a terrifying mechanic evolves that forces an opponent to choose to sac a permanent, discard and take 2 damage, or take 3 damage at their upkeep. This does take some time to set up so in the mean time you have removal a plenty in the form of Fatal Push, Moment of Craving, Doomfall (Which can also act as pseudo discard) and Bontu's Last Reckoning. These cards ensure that you have the needed time to set up your combo and leech your enemies life away.

The rest of it

The remainder of the cards exist to power up your hand-hate. Glint-Sleeve Siphoner helps you with Card draw. Fatal Push is strong removal. Torment of Hailfire is here just to end the game. Keep in mind that if you have a Raiders' Wake out your opponent has to take 2 every time they discard, only making this card scarier.

Land Ho!

Yes, it's a pirate joke. Get over it. Not much to mention here except Cradle of the Accursed. It's here because of it's sac ability. Sometimes you just need one or two more creatures, and the 2/2 zombie Cradle provides is an invaluable asset.

Playing the game

Smart play is required here. Knowing whether it's better or not to save cards until later. Playing to keep one swamp untapped is a great way into tricking opponents into thinking you'll just push their creature if they drop it. The name of the game with this deck is card advantage. You achieve this by forcing your opponent into disadvantage. Keep their hand small, and yours plentiful. The game will be all but won when you drop that Torment of Scarabs or Torment of Hailfire.
