Budget Proteus Hunt

Modern

jakefink3603

Sideboard

Deck inspired by the MTG Goldfish "Much Abrew about Nothing" episode "Proteus Hunt Modern." This deck seems fantastic and really fun to play, but it came with the price tag of a tier 1 modern deck. If you want to play a "go big or go home" kind of deck, it should not cost that much! This version is affordable to the newer player that wants to bring something original to their LGS. The goal of this deck is to pull off one of the most bizarre combos in the game. The main board of this deck features Proteus Staff, in other words a Polymorph on an artifact. When tapped, this artifact will search through your deck until it hits a creature. However, this deck runs no creatures mainboard (you sack goblin tokens to activate the staff.) This trigger will force you to reveal your entire deck until you have no cards left. From there, Proteus Staff allows you to stack your deck in whatever order you choose, which allows you to pull of a treasure hunt combo that is better explained in SaffronOlive's video here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GSWCqsMMcWo
