Update #2 Preparation for Game Day —Oct. 15, 2014

After looking through the deck lists of PT Khans, I made modifications to my deck

Out Goes (from Mainboard):

-1 Thoughtseize -1 Hero's Downfall -1 Nissa, Worldwaker -1 Anafenza, the Foremost -1 Plains -2 Temple of Silence -1 Llanowar Wastes

In Goes (to Mainboard)

+1 Despise +1 Utter End +1 Sorin, Solemn Visitor +1 Athreos, God of Passage +4 Sandsteppe Citadel

For the sideboard, it got completely redone

Take out Anafenza, the Foremost and put in Karametra, God of Harvests and use her as a fetch system. Read the card description.

Oh yeah, and Take out the Fetch lands, sell them, make some money. You won't need them with Karametra, God of Harvests and a few Urborg, Tomb of Yawgmoth .

shepherdofire: I may take out Anafenza, the Foremost for something else but I am definitely keeping the Fetchlands in my deck. The problem with Karametra, God of Harvests is not good with my deck, is that it requires additional resources in order for it to work once it hits the field. The second issue I have with Karametra, is that she will be on top of my curve. If she is suppose to be on the top of my curve, she needs to be super efficient on her own WITHOUT any more additional resources to pump it.

As for Urborg, Tomb of Yawgmoth , I only really need 2 in my deck as they are legendary lands. Too many will become dead draws. Plus, if I can no long use my fetchlands, Tomb would just turn them to swamps.

Thanks for the suggestions though

aiee6: Definitely very similar except you are way stronger in the early game portion while I feel like I'm stronger in the late game

Excellent deck though

for the record karametra is a terrible standard card.that being said have you thought about Fleecemane Lion instead of Rakshasa Deathdealer . for me its a more efficient card, and deathdealer requires you to leave mana open for your late game at that time you want to be playing bigger threats not regenerating him. also not sure on your budget, but Siege Rhino is a 4 of in almost every abzan deck that I know of. Same with Courser of Kruphix and Sylvan Caryatid Beautiful card! Master of the Feast is interesting I have been toying with either him or Herald of Torment to include in my personal deck so I am curious as to how that will work out. With four Abzan Charm the Sign in Blood seems redundant and you can fill that spot with more removal or more plainswalkers as you can get them. just some humble suggestions from a fellow Abzan player.

Ratatamacue: I tried Fleecemane Lion but I feel that Rakshasa Deathdealer is more of a threat especially in the late game if I happen to draw him. He can trade with a 4/4 if I pump him or use him to block a creature without trample and still have him live

I currently only got 3 Siege Rhino but I guess I can get a 4th one

The reason why I got 3 Courser of Kruphix and Sylvan Caryatid is because I have a bad tendency to draw them late game when everything is already settled. Everyone I know runs 4 and seems to have no problems except me -.-

Master of the Feast is a double-edge sword whenever I play it. If they have a Courser of Kruphix on the field, it's not that bad as I can see what they're drawing. You can bestow Herald of Torment in the late game to give someone flying which is the plus side of him. The issue with Herald is that most relevant creatures are bigger then a 3/3 such as Wingmate Roc or Stormbreath Dragon . At the very least, Master of the Feast can hold its own against those 2 flyers and becomes an instant magnet for removal
