My green hornet deck I'm working on.

Hornet Queen and Hornet Nest are a lot of fun to play in Limited formats but trying to get them into Constructed (especially Standard) is a bit of a challenge, especially with board sweepers and red removal spells out there to wipe out the insect tokens.

One idea is to try and Ramp early on with Elvish Mystic and Market Festival to build enough mana to cast the larger creatures (if they're in my hand) or Fetch them with Chord of Calling. Getting Hornet Queen on the field is my primary goal to start making tokens early and Scuttling Doom Engine is around to just be nasty. Bouncing Hornet Queen with Invasive Species makes 4 more tokens each time HQ is played.

The other idea is to get Hornet Nest on the field and smash it to make a lot of tokens. Either by blocking an opponent's creature or letting it fight my Nessian Wilds Ravager. If they don't pay the tribute, I can smack the Nest for 6 damage and get 6 tokens. If they do pay, I get a 12/12 creature. Or I could use Setessan Tactics on the Nest and have it fight a big creature (a certain 12/12 Hydra comes to mind).
