Urza's Legacy was a strange set. Memory Jar and Tinker in the same set... How? Destiny was strange too. Aura Thief always stands out to me. Masticore with the Urza legendary lands is iconic. Supposed to be an artifact block, which it was, but the enchantments were ridiculous. I was a fan of Echo but it was the only cycle in the block that lacked power.

Legends for a lack of better words was legendary. Overflowing with power. Interesting that it is a favorite of yours as Telepathy is a power creeped Field of Dreams.

Alliances is a sleeper for sure. The years have been kind to it.

Niko9 on Favorite pulls you've had

When I was first getting into magic during Stronghold, I was so excited about pulling Warrior Angel. Nevermind that I had pulled, at this point, multiple Mox Diamond and Sliver Queen, I just loved the art on warrior angel and it felt like the next step in Serra Angel that I was playing. In retrospect it is a little silly, but this was a different time. Masticore was the most broken thing around, and I even remember a magazine at the time that had the top 10 cards from Stronghold and Shard Phoenix was number 1. So I may have been in the dark, but we were all in the dark : ) And to this day Warrior Angel just my be my favorite card ever.

Nice UG Madness deck for Legacy, I'm searching for ideas because I'm acquiring a deck like this and I want to improve it. A nice idea I have seen on the deck that I'm buying is Masticore... IDK if it's just a good memory or if it's really a good adition to the deck, but at least it seems to fit the mechanic of the deck.

Please try to check my Argothian 10-Land Stompy! deck for Legacy-format!

Masticore seems like a great fit with Kamahl ability and all that extra mana.

becks16 on Going to a draw via …

Say player 1 has infinite mana (perhaps through Grand Architect + Pili-Pala ) and a Masticore and player 2 has Sasaya, Orochi Ascendant . P1 shoots sasaya with the masticore, P2 uses sasaya to reveal in response, P1 shoots sasaya in response, etc etc. What actually happens?

Per rules, the only way a game can end are here: https://mtg.gamepedia.com/Ending_the_game#Rules

104.4b If a game that’s not using the limited range of influence option (including a two-player game) somehow enters a “loop” of mandatory actions, repeating a sequence of events with no way to stop, the game is a draw. Loops that contain an optional action don’t result in a draw.

Since both actions are optional, what happens? I can see 2 options, one of the players decides not to activate their ability and the stack then resolves, or both players decide on a mutual draw. However, no rules I can find say what happens when neither player backs down or agrees to draw. In tournament, the game could go to time? But other than that I'm not sure.

With Vhati's ability to set a creature's toughness to 1, why not take advantage of that opportunity by including some more ways to pick that creature off? Bullwhip , Masticore and Triskelion can all pick off a shrunken-down critter with ease, as could anything that reduces toughness: Fevered Convulsions , Phyrexian Plaguelord and Nefashu can do the trick, too.
