APPLE01DOJ yeah that works until they start killing you with the Wurmcoil they just pooped out.

I dunno, I've never been in that situation. What is the the earliest a Wurmcoil Engine can touch down?

T3 is common, maybe t2 if they're ramping, I'm not sure

I've won against Tron when they pooped out Wurmcoil. It's rough, but Skullcrack and Flames of the Blood Hand are my friends. I've considered splashing for a few PtW in the side. Splashing means more shocks, which means I no longer have an advantage in the mirror.
Blood Moon makes Tron cry though, so yeah. What does suck is a T3 Karn, exiling lands.

My Grixis percy deck usually has burn go down to turn 20 ... before I finally find a Wurmcoil Engine to finish them off. Unless I have a Silent Arbiter online, then I can make it around 10-15.

APPLE01DOJ says... #8
Can't see how that would stop the game plan. 6 damage on t4 usually won't kill Burn & if you're ramping into it, you probably haven't dropped any other significant threats. Just keep burning.
April 26, 2015 10:53 a.m.
Because it has lifelink. So it negates 2 burn spells every time it attacks.......
April 26, 2015 10:54 a.m.
Femme_Fatale says... #10
It's called gaining 6 life, every turn, and preventing burn critters from swinging into you for a turn.
April 26, 2015 10:55 a.m.
If you can cut it in half though, it's not too big of a problem.

Well, I don't go on the computer for 12 hours and a huge discussion starts up on my favorite format, I have a lot of reading to do before I'm caught up

That's not your deck aeonstoremyliver. This is.
April 26, 2015 11:10 a.m.
2 things.
I thought Commune with Lava was going to be big because of all the hype. Yet its a dollar rare. What happened? Was is actually just edh appeal?
How is The Rack a thing. Every time I read it, I miss why its played in discard. The less cards in hand the less damage they take.
April 26, 2015 11:12 a.m.
Femme_Fatale says... #19
You aren't doing the math right -x-Juuzou-x-x-, it's the other way around. Say they have 7 cards in hind. The formula for countering the damage The Rack deals is 3-X. So in this case, The Rack would deal 3-7 damage= -4 damage. In other words no damage. If they have 2 cards in hand X=2 so 3-X would be 3-2 = 1 damage.

Apparently, someone already had that deck name lol. Reset slug to
April 26, 2015 11:17 a.m.
I think printing a set of lands similar to the Tron lands would help the modern metagame a bit. It's a 3-mana, a 3-mana, and a 2-mana instead of 3, 2, 2. This helps power out turn 3 Ugin, which can control the game a ton. Mono-Blue tron may be able to come back which would introduce another control deck into Tier 1/1.5.
Additionally, a GW creature with Hexproof good for Bogles and Zoo would help push those two decks a bit more. Maybe GW - 3/3 Hexproof? Maybe Zoo can be Tier 1 again and Bogles can be Tier 1.5.
We also need a Bloodbraid Elf unban. It will make Living End slightly stronger (which is about $25 before the landbase) and bring back Jund to rival Abzan.
Sword of the Meek I'm not sure about. With that and Thopter Foundry every mana equals one life. No unused mana. Time Sieve and Krark-Clan Ironworks can each go infinite. Disciple of the Vault makes a reusable Extort mechanic for 1 colorless. It also is in Blue which provides counterspells to keep the combo going. I think it would be stronger than Twin.

Commune with Lava looks interesting in RDW. When in top deck mode in a grindy match, I can see this being played at the end of the OP's turn for 5, but it's a Gamble. It could whiff pretty hard. It could be very good in EDH though.
April 26, 2015 11:32 a.m.
Jund is gaining in popularity. The life gain of Junk is less relevant not. But siege rhino is still the best 4-drop.
April 26, 2015 11:51 a.m.
I just love playing BG/x. And I personally lean towards more control versions of the deck. Lots of removal and few creatures makes me happy.
April 26, 2015 11:58 a.m.
I actually recently updated my Jund deck. Would you mind taking a look?

So my next deck I work on will certainly be Jeskai Dragons in modern. Anyone have some thoughts on Mutavault vs Tec Edge?

APPLE01DOJ says... #34
Ugin should be kept at T4 IMO. (Not counting Talisman of Dominance)

Mutavault are good for that new dragon counter people are testing.
April 26, 2015 12:11 p.m.
VampireArmy says... #37
exactly but how good is good enough right? GlistenerAgent and I spoke about it once. It seems tec edge are better and you can still use the counterspell even with a dragon but I'm iffy.

Less gimmick, more goodstuff Apple. Play monoblack Devo damnit :P

Femme_Fatale says... #40
Suicide Black? You are better off playing Junk Death's Shadow. Problem with that is that it is inferior to Junk in every way possible. It's why I scrapped the entire thing.
April 26, 2015 12:19 p.m.
APPLE01DOJ says... #41
Well it really just turns it into a Cancel since the Mutavault's activation cost. :/ ...but I I'm a fan of Manlands I guess it really depends on the deck's need for bodies.

Far Over Misty Mountains Cold Is the deck. Got a set of Colonnades in addition to 15 bodies. I think i'm good there haha. Geist midrange + dragons rather than resto-kiki if you're wondering.

I have a MBA Deck... Just get burned out on it quick. Like I play it for a day and I'm done.
Always go back to my MBC deck.

Colonnades are so slow... I think you're better off already with the Tectonic Edges though.

small question -- Does anyone think Inkmoth Nexus will see a reprint in MM15? I need some for my Infect but between them and the set of Noble Hierarch I'd need, my offence is sort of stunted at the moment. Trying to judge whether it's worth getting a box or not.
April 26, 2015 12:34 p.m.
OtakulordAndrew says... #47
@Skulloelegy it's a possibility that they will try to make infect staples a part of MM15 as well as to add a deck arc type for drafting that can also include weaker cards that won't actually be used in modern. If they make infect something they want to put in MM15 Inkmoth Nexus will probably be included.

Never buy a product in the hopes of getting a specific set of cards. Buy the singles as needed. Muuuch cheaper

Mox Opal reprint, please and thank you. Preferably with a $10+ cut in price.
I know this isn't feasible. Just let me have my goddamn dream.
