Now I'm nervous. XZ

ahem. For the longest time, I've tried every trick in the book to make of that of Tier 3 or more. I just wanted help in some way or another. Shameful I don't have enough ideas to back this up. Much less remove the opposing of my cause-that's-misguided, looking back at my 1st version of this post.

Looking at the Colors & alone, the former can utilize some degree of Freedom. This may seem like a rebellious feat, but what about 's Peace? Some clerics are already capable of this, but combine the two: while there is Chaos & Order in this identity, both qualities should be able to use either one when it's truly needed; meaning they can act like a War Hero one moment, & even be an immaculate Priest w/ no current opposition the next until the situation declares it to be. Boros also has a Heroism like Trait, having a good sense of Good & Evil differentiation. This is basically like Kal-El (Superman) of DC Fame. Just wanting to protect the peace; in contrast to Bruce Wayne (Batman) who seems to do this on a level more dark, & dreary than thus; basically making ol' Kal-El more Boros like than Even Batman (Who I'd be incorrect if I stated ol' Bruce is more based.).

After that research, WotC might need to learn from the other kinds of characters in fiction aside from their own, maybe...

However, the basic principles of EDH sill apply...

  1. I need to have 100 Cards; 11 chopped off. Any replacements are fine.

  2. Since this format is all Infinity Budget, I'll accept some truly expensive garbahge; just don't expect me to even buy any of it; they'll be as poor quality as Proxies.

  3. Right now, the deck seems to be in Stax form, but imagine if somebody has a way to bypass damage; requiring a different wincon entirely; X-Burns, Attacking in general, etc. are all banned here for this notion.

  4. Boros has stuff in their colors w/ incredible effects. Just doing continuous research might do some good...

As a rule of thumb, I believe as a start, one should check the individual colors mentioned for this first. does have its flaws, even I'm aware of this.

Obviously, 111 cards. 11 to kill from the list. I'm not trying to oppose your suggestions, but the ones I mentioned sometime back just won't work in even Tier 3 at best Boards.

After all that; I apologize for all this; (I was mentioning something here, but it was ridiculous, so it was removed.), & I just wanted some constructive criticism, not Ilharg-style hating despite requiring constructive criticism.

So, being the reckless imbecile of a being like myself (NOTE: I'm an independent being of my own kind, wanting my ideas to be such, thus my "Quasi-Rakdos " trait, A Growth Mindset that only gets bigger almost all the time, analyzing ideas from both history & fiction (Hey, Hindu Warriors had their share of No-Dachi Wielding badassery as well.), while keeping an amount so big, It's reserved as a part of the most complicated Comp of all. Thus, Dimir . But I'm mostly Izzet for my Raw Emotion, Reasoning that "Mostly" is flawed in some aspects, & Creativity to make what kind of Legendary Creature should be made based on their already mentioned traits, while following Boros' Guidelines, all w/o Color Bleed of any size), well, what I just Parenthesized...

So? I actually wanted help here despite what I have thus far...

So, what would you cut? Would you believe should be right for the Color Identity in question for cEDH? Should they stand alone? What would you recommend, & as an exchanging of some kind, cut all in one comment? I already have quite the "Displacer Package" that is probably slower that what I want it to be, should I keep Eldrazi Displacer & its combo pieces? The Lab Maniac Team told me not to worry about getting below CMC2; I don't think that's what this kind of deck wants either; but I don't want to be too high either.

All that said & done, the few who do care, I talked about this for so long, if this can't be done, Post-WAR; it can't be done at all.

I'm already talking nonsense, but I have a goal to reach; & in this case, I think everyone can (Kinda?) understand it? If one is confused about my goal, I'll go ahead & respond to it. If that doesn't make sense after that, I should perhaps remind you via a comment?

Well, w/ the little info I provided, what would you reccommend & cut at the same comment for this post?; It seems to be that of Stax-Type ideas, but I wonder if it can do any better...

Thanks for the help until now, I apologize for any inappropriate discrepancies mentioned throughout; & anything similar. You guys might actually be up to something, but stop opposing my ideas, please. I'm trying to help the cause, not feed the solar flare.

So... Any ideas?

UPDATE: In case anyone wants to talk mental health; I am slightly Asperger's, & sometimes I can be Bipolar. I guess my part of my Grixis Identity overpowers all other colors of mine. But can you guys not try & hate such an idea that I know NOW is misled; I wanted to keep it Tier 3; I just, didn't know Winning be T3 is a Tier 1 only perk.

Oh, & as for the references:

Genie from the Alladin Live Action Reboot (Will Smith > Robin Williams. Sorry.)

Jet from Season 2 of Avatar: The Last Airbender

Um... I dunno? Tokyo would imply a Kaiju-Genre Film; most likely the Localized version of Gojira.

Sadly that's all I can remember. I wish any of you can help; but I knew this was going to happen, Tibalt-Style Foresight wise.

I hope this helps. It seems forgiveness is an impossibility. X/

Let me go through your points.

  1. xD What? cEDH doesn't make you win by turn 3? Most lists can't do that, midrange combo like Kess Turns and Yisan lists aim for turns 4-5ish and use a mix of removal and hate to stop faster opponents. Control/Stax decks from Control Zur, Blood Pod, or Derevi win much later, after locking out faster combo opponents with permission, removal, stax, and hate.

It is true you need to be affecting the board state in a heavy way by turn three, but you definitely do not need to win by then.

  1. Wrong, Boros does have efficient infinite combos that do not need to spend a long amount of time to physically go through each trigger, such as the popular cEDH Aurelia, the Warleader + Helm of the Host list, using a stax-core for the list, as well as an abundance of tutors, such as Steelshaper's Gift or Stoneforge Mystic to set up the combo.

Another popular competitive viable Boros combo was using Imperial Recruiter with Recruiter of the Guard , to fetch Kiki-Jiki, Mirror Breaker , to copy the Recruiter of choice to fetch Combat Celebrant or Village Bell-Ringer to go infinite with Kiki-Jiki, Mirror Breaker .

Point is, Boros always had good win conditions that went infinite and were effectively 1-card combos too, (Just need Helm + Commander or Recruiter+what it tutors for in deck) for what it is worth.

  1. Aurelia, being a strong combo-enabler also happens to remove the argument that prior to Feather, WotC only made bad commanders that only revolve around creature-beatdown strategies or dumb tribal shenanigans.

Gisela was often used in conjunction with effects like Manabarbs for a stax-lockdown deck, Firesong and Sunspeaker is a burn-lifegain deck, very spell-focused, Brion Stoutarm was a list based around sacrifice and recursion, with lifegain synergies to boot, etc.

After this you say that "BOROS HAS YET TO DO THAT", referring to non-combat commander support, again I look to Gisela, Firesong/Sunspeaker, and Brion.

Then you bring up that tier 1 lists always go off turn 3 and you can't be competitive without that, again, BS, Yisan, Teferi, and Sisay and tier 1 decks, of which two are stax-combo hybrids that often go the stax-y control route and Yisan is midrange-y, etc.

Then you go into the 5 things you want to do to get this deck where you want. I don't see why as Aurelia is a tier 3 cEDH list anyway, but who cares.

  1. All commander decks need to be 100 cards exactly anyway to be a commander deck, this is not specific to cEDH.

  2. No, many people build budgeted cEDH decks, but just like any competitive event for standard, modern, legacy, vintage, and pauper, playing a budgeted variant will lose you games. Also, many players to do accept the use of proxies, and in competitive EDH tournaments or side events and Grand Prix's, or now Magic Fests, you can be disqualified for using proxies.

  3. That is not a rule of cEDH, while it isn't a bad suggestion, it is not necessary for the vast majority of faster combo decks, that only need to protect their combo, or for stax decks with hate that can stop threats before they are cast, or stop them from being cast, well before having a removal or counterspell up is necessary.

  4. I would suggest the old Helm of Obedience / Rest in Peace combo for the deck or a Kiki-Jiki package to play with. Running Rest in Peace as graveyard hate is often useful enough to warrant inclusion in any cEDH white list not aiming on using the graveyard for itself, and this list shouldn't so recursion based.

  5. Wrong, not that Boros has great effects, it does, but the arrogance in saying that nobody knows them is astounding to me xD.

After this you make it sound like there is a mob of cEDH players who say Boros is "forbidden". I have only heard that word said in cEDH as a reference to Forbidden Orchard xD.

Then you complain about infinite creature combos stopping you from having fun, and claim Azathoth from the Lovecraftian pantheon is the most powerful media character (must never have heard of SCP-3812), and ramble on about inane things.

Then you actually go crazy. Not about Boros, not about anything else mtg related, you literally claim you are "The only person willing to help on Earth." No joke, read it. Lunatic.

Starts quoting some BS after that, and immediately goes into talking about cuts for the list. Actually, this concerns me for BMHKain's mental health. This is some deeply disturbing stuff.

Then goes into quoting something about Tokyo, and apologizes for having some of the really weird stuff throughout.

Okay, wtf was that. You start by going on some factually incorrect assumptions about cEDH, then all Boros commanders, then all Boros combos, then on basic EDH rules like having 100 cards... then you go off the deep end, and ask about cutting cards.

I mean from looking at the deck almost all your cards are just there to annoy your opponets by making them pay more to cast stuff and occasionally counter a few things with the few white counterspells in existence. I don’t really see any way this deck can win by turn 3 like you would want it to since it is kinda just playing out as a version of your common Grand Arbiter Augustin IV tax your opponets deck.

Also I have to agree with SynergyBuild that you’re sorta all over the place with this thread and it is a bit difficult to read and understand, almost seeming like you wanted to just stretch it along to make it seem like some kind of valid point you are trying to make, but just coming off as seemingly random babble during some points.

Having read your whole thread, my best advice for you is to be more concise and stay on point while composing your threads. You're way more likely to get helpful feedback when people aren't confronted by a wall of meandering text. Simple, straightforward questions will reap simple, straightforward (and hopefully useful) answers.

I mean, thanks? But I don't think this is worth clapping over, I asked a psych major to look it over, and they talked about some disorders that I don't remember, something like bipolar or schizophrenia. Legitimately concerned.

@SynergyBuild: Oddly enough, about Mental Damage, you're somewhat close. I am slightly Asperger's & I even think sometimes I'm somehow Bipolar. Yes, I take meds. No, I don't believe I need most of them.

Oh. Instant Disqualification from mere Proxying in larger-tier Tourneys. Oh... crud.

Huh, I am familiar w/ SCP to a degree, though, nothing as of 4 digit beings. I'll have to look that crap up...

True, I'll retract my saying about "that"; I was merely referring to individual colors of the Identity as a whole. Now you said it, though, I kinda regret saying that despite also having poor memory in such cases (It is a odd thing, I can remember some things for completely unknown reasons, & the same goes for those I can't.). Now the Mentality test of mine is on the verge of defeat. Well, I'd care less; the Izzet part of my Grixis Trinity is known for being a Mad Scientist. XP

So yeah, I do apologize for this, still unforgiven, I think if there's one thing that starting the whole thing in my perspective; blame it on an old Rocky & Bullwinkle VHS Cover. I'll have to right my wrongs directly after this post.

One last thing: How the heck is Helm of Obedience useful in the slightest? What kind of GG Synergy can that make even though it isn't meant for such combos...?

Yeah, the crowd went wild alright, but it was for heading south. I'll try to revise the whole post if you need be; but I'm distraught enough already, I need to calm the heck down; & nobody should make the situation far worse for me, but Paradise-Like for all others...

That said, I feel so stupid after all this.

BMHKain I never wanted to make you feel bad. I think you were mistaken, we all are at some point. Don't feel stupid.

On a separate note, I would recommend looking into SCP 3812, I think you'd like it.

BTW Helm of Obedience x=1 or greater with Rest in Peace on the field exiles the targeted player's library.

Caerwyn says... #11

Helm of Obedience , when combined with Rest in Peace is an extremely potent tool to mill someone's deck. How does it work? That most destructive force: Grammar.

Helm of Obedience mills your opponent until certain conditions are "put into that graveyard this way". Rest in Peace applies a replacement effect, such that the cards being milled never go to the graveyard.

It's a pretty potent little combo. As SynergyBuild already stated, the combo is further improved by the fact one of its pieces--Rest in Piece is a great card even without the other combo piece on the board.

BMHKain says... #12

@SynergyBuild: Huh... Now I really need a way to use the Helm's ability in some quasi-infinite way; just flicking that abomination cancels out the Cost.

Oh, & as for the SCP-3812 "Thing"

https://vsbattles.fandom.com/wiki/SCP-3812#SCP-3812

Compared to H.P. Lovecraft Canonized Azathoth…

https://vsbattles.fandom.com/wiki/Azathoth_(Cthulhu_Mythos)

Not that I want to put strict rules in such a case; far from it. There's another Azathoth in fiction that could beat something w/ incredible hax. It would be (kinda?) close, but Lovecraftian Lore Azathoth even had Yog-Sothoth as descendance, making Azathoth precede the concept of Existence. But I really don't want to derail this at a huge degree.

I am, after all, trying to make 3 Wincons work in the same deck... One, requires a Helm to be flickered, while still using the X=1 option.

All others, I'll keep it shut for now... I'll say this though; the combos are from the Ilharging I had to see as Tough Love converted to Spite. X/ Crap. Probably shouldn't have said that...
