I have a lot of budget decks lying around here, but there aren't that many of them that are just pick-up-and-play for people learning the game. So I decided to make a deck series that filled that gap, with common effects and basic strategies that still provide enough depth to be interesting.

Tempo decks are designed to gain a strategic advantage with every card played at every point in the game. This sounds obvious--why would you do something that doesn't give you an advantage?--but the important thing here is progress. Constant incremental advantages keep tipping the scales in your favor. Your creatures provide recursion, permanent buffs, removal, and more on top of offensive and defensive versatility.

If you're helping someone learn the game with this deck, focus on how lots of small advantages build up to a big advantage. That's the tempo way.
