Sideboard

With the printing of FLame Rift in Modern Horizons II was spoiled, I had to try and find a good version of mono-red burn for modern. I typically play Boros burn, so this deck has the same basic shell, except that Boros Charm has been switched out for Flame Rift. While this is downgrading a multifunctional instant to a strictly worse sorcery that also burns us, I think that the help given by a simpler mana base makes up for it. This strengthens the deck against Blood Moon and allows up to play our own copies on the sideboard without worrying about being locked out of playing Boros Charm.

Simply retooling the standard shell for Boros burn seems to be the most natural thing to do for a mono-red deck in modern. However, I have not played modern in a while and I do not know how much the meta has shifted since I last played over a year and a half ago. I only have two copies of Searing Blaze on the mainboard because I don't know how creature-heavy the meta is currently and there's nothing worse than a searing blaze in hand without any targets. I've marked this deck as needing help for that reason. If you have any advice on how to make this deck more efficient at counting to 20 please leave a comment!
