You can cycle or draw/discard with a bad hand, but I recommend a mulligan. If you draw a creature but have a card to play it from the graveyard on opening draw you can skip playing anything turn 1 to discard the creature, unless you have Careful Study, in which case that is good for discarding. Half the time you should be able to Entomb, then Exhume (or animate) on turn 1 even after a mulligan. Elesh Norn, Grand Cenobite will neutralize any elf/token/goblin deck if played in the first few rounds. It That Betrays is best to play on first turn if possible. Iona, Shield of Emeria is super lame to play, but is also an instant winner against mono colors and Avacyn, Angel of Hope will counter creature destruction. You can sideboard an Archetype of Endurance if your opponent is using exile cards
