HYPERBUDGET HYPE! This is the third and final installment of my three part deck series: Hyperbudget Aggro. This is a great deck for both casual players, and for tournament Spikes on a budget.

Card Explanations Show

Gladiator

Spike Jester , Rakdos Shred-Freak , Rakdos Cackler , Mardu Shadowspear , and Cryptborn Horror . The gladiators are the ones in the arena, fighting for the win. Their goal is to kill the opponent as early as possible.

Sword

Brute Force, Titan's Strength , and Virulent Swipe . Swords are used by the gladiators to help slash down the opponent. Unlike Armor however, swords can break, they come and go.

Armor

Deviant Glee and Predator's Gambit . A gladiator wears his armor to stay alive. Armor offers protection and offensive upgrades, giving the wearer an edge in battle.

Execution

Doom Blade, Smother, and Duress. When a gladiator has the upper hand, he can sometimes be ordered to perform an execution. Executions kill the opponent, or his underlings. They both humiliate, and eliminate.

Audience

Swamp and Mountain. How is a gladiator to fight without support from the crowd?

Sideboard

Dragon Mantle offers both card draw, and a neat little enchantment. Faithless Looting and Tormenting Voice both give cheap card draw. Dust Corona can come out game 2 against any flyer decks. Tainted Strike is very helpful against life gain decks.

Strategy Show

Keep an early board presence, and attack your opponent with gladiators, like Spike Jester . Use both armor and swords to not only keep your gladiators alive, but give them the offensive, like Deviant Glee and Brute Force. If there are any threats under an opponent's control, take them out with executions, like Doom Blade.

These are the things you should know before making suggestions.

Budget

This deck is a hyperbudget deck. What this means is that the deck price must be kept under $20 and the sideboard (if applicable) $5 or less.

Suggestions

If I feel a suggestion is poorly justified or explained, I will most likely ask you to elaborate. This isn't as much of a problem, because I can usually see why a card would make a good addition to a deck. Oh, and if I'm being stubborn (I'm usually not) be prepared to defend your reasonings on any cards very, very throughly (this is even a less seldom problem).

Lightning Bolt

I have decided to not run Lightning Bolt in the mainboard, but this does not mean the individual cannot run it. If you do choose to run a play set of Lightning Bolts, here are some cards you can swap out to run them:

- Brute Force, Duress, or maybe some of the auras. Honestly though, it is all personal preference of what you'd like to take out to run the Lightning Bolts.
