Woah finally we are getting some new cards again =D

Skyshroud Ranger Looks solid in this deck, almost a second Exploration in the body of an elf.

JuQ We dont play any of the creatures like Skyshroud ranger. I think theres two or three of them. They require to tap to put a land into play, so it cant do it the turn it comes out.(remeber, this is cEDH not casual. we need to be as fast as possible.) and if we dont have any lands in hand, its a 1/1 without evasion doing nothing for us. most cards that exist have been talked about and explored for this deck seeing as edric is about 5 or 6 years old and has been brewed to death.

First of all, I love this list. It's so satisfying to break the traditional mold of cEDH decks to play a swarm-style deck, especially one that refuses to run any creature buffs. It's ridiculous in a great way. That being said, my meta is a mix of casual and more tuned lists, and i often find myself getting outpaced by some decks with a higher curve that can make better use of mana rocks. Any suggestions for a sideboard when facing decks like these? I already run Meekstone, but without a Trinket Mage or a similar artifact tutor the effect is somewhat negligible. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

(Side note: I really want to preserve the extra-turn-juggling core of the deck. I dont want to win through overrun effects or infect, rather I'm looking for stax effects that will punish large creature spells and the like.)

Saint99It sound like youre playing in a casual meta so this deck should dominate and maybe even be too strong as is. the biggest thing you need to keep in mind when jamming edric in casual metas is to make sure you hold up counterspells for board wipes. All that being said though, In my opinion, Edric is too strong for casual and will still obliterate many casual metas even if you take out the warps and put in pump effects, making the deck a lot weaker. I dont condone stomping but if you are going to try edric into your meta, you should try it weaker first. warps(except throng) out for stuff like eastmasters/choof/triumph and so on. Hey, thanks for the quick reply. I should probably mention that my meta is made up of decks ranging from janky spirit tribal to tuned stax decks and a little storm, and my current Edric list runs no cards that cost more than 10$ outside of some of the extra turn effects. That being said, you're probably right about turns being too good for casual no matter how you build it. I'll slot in the overrun and see how it goes.

Hey guys! Thoughts on Artificer's Assistant compared to Scryb Sprites? The plus I'm seeing from sprites is only from spell-stutter where as the little bird assistant can give us some scry. Is it worth to replace because we are drawing so many cards? What would be more effect in that slot? Thanks in advance!

What do you think of creature-based extra turns like Lighthouse Chronologist or Timestream Navigator. Much too vulnerable to removal?

And what are the next best extra turn cards beyond those slotted in the deck? It's hard to find a capture of jingzhou. Haha

bonsai11943 We stay away from cards like those. They aren't as good as a straight up warp. Capture is easier to find now than ever. A judge promo came out just before the holiday season making it much more affordable as well. Right now. There's a new warp in dominaria;I would just simply slot that one in place of Capture if I couldn't afford one. For the non budget list, the new warp will be replacing part the waterveil.

Does you have any kind of budget list from this deck? For example do you think i could play the new Dominaria Mox instead of the Diamond one and are they are cheap ways to fix your mana with out loosing to mutch time while playing not all fetsch lands? Note: iam playing in a not so competitive meta, but i really like how you come up with the idea looping extra turns and want to build something around that core too. Greetings Moft

Moft I don't suggest the new Mox not even on a budget. Also I don't suggest turn looping in casual metas. We have a budget list in our primer linked in the description. The budget list isn't updated but might give some ideas.

Mana dorks tapping as soon as they get down, and it helps with the tap right aggro beatdown strategy. Faster ramp, faster draw, earlier chaining?

Hi Allergy! How do we fair in a multiplayer free for all? I have a tournament coming up on Saturday that is only 4 player pods and am planning to take this instead of my Animar cEDH. Any tips on how to play for the win? Having a bunch of combo decks we can't slow down in time or stax decks stop our casting seems really bad for us, but I'm not sure Animar would be any better. Thoughts?

Andros240 Hey there. Sorry for the late reply. So as far as multiplayer free for all, when people talk about cEDH, its assumed that they're talking about 4 player free for all pods. That is the norm. Edric is banned in 1v1 EDH formats. As for comparing to Animar, Animar isn't quite considered competitive anymore. It's very fragile and not as consistent/fast as the other combo decks out there. Edric does fair a lot better as it is still considered competitive. BUT Edric has gotten a lot worse over the past couple years due to better decks popping up and some that are a huge pain to our gameplan. fgator5220 If you want to keep warp density up, then cut a basic forest and go to 29 lands. if you think the current amount of warps is good, cute waterveil.

Hi!

I've been working on an Edric deck of mine based on your list, Simon's list and the primer you two did, I'm a big fan of your work. I'm nearly finished with a version I'd be happy with and I'd like to hear your opinion about it; Edric's weenie death squad. "Maybe out" cards are cards that are probably going out, "Maybe in" cards in the maybeboard are about to replace them. The deck isn't really cEDH, I can hardly find enough people for a pod like that here, but I like Edric and the people I like to play with are on the optimized/competitive level, so anything goes (meaning that, for instance, Mental Misstep is dead, but cards like Force of Will and Mana Drain are used a lot).

Also, a few specific questions:

• What do you think about Merchant Scroll? You guys included it in your budget list, but I don't see some extraordinary utility here (preparing an answer sorcery speed, getting a grave recursion spell and, as of recently, getting Nexus of Fate). I suppose there is no room for it any more, but I'm checking to be "sure".

• Swan Song gives an opponent a relevant blocker and that's a pain. However nothing I can think of compares to the extraordinary deal of a 1 mana counter. Is it worth the risk in non-cEDH or should I risk and play Spell Pierce (a conditional counter that won't work always, but will work fine more often than not)? Is there a 3rd option you'd recommend?

• Would Beast Within be a good addition? Since ground blocker isn't relevant to me and there are quite a few decks with problematic permanents around (and a few particularly skilled/problematic players piloting such decks), especially since this is not cEDH and threats can stick. Thoughts?

• I can't find a Chrome Mox atm. What would you suggest instead? A land or a dork?

• Eventually I'll get Eladamri, Lord of Leaves, it's just a matter of finding a good offer. But for the time being, and we might be talking months here, I need a replacement. Should I prioritize protection and play Lightning Greaves instead or is there another temporary alternative you'd suggest?

• What's the purpose of Phantasmal Image in here besides providing a decent attacker? I'm struggling to find one, and when I do I have 2 other decks that want/need it far more (because 2 mana Palinchron is a thing). So I'd like to know more about its function in here to either motivate myself to find it or to find a decent replacement.
