Planeswalker (1)

Enchantment (4)

Instant (2)

A black/green beatdown deck. The game plan is simple and direct; land a resilient threat (Lotleth Troll or Varolz, the Scar-Striped), support with other powerful creatures, clear the way with removal, kill. There are some interesting interactions I'd like to highlight.

  1. Lotleth Troll, Varolz, the Scar-Striped, and Deadbridge Goliath. Basically, discard the goliath to the troll, and you can get five cheap counters due to Varolz' ability.

  2. Slitherhead and Lotleth Troll. I never play Slitherhead turn one (instead, I usually play a guildgate. Slitherheads are used primarily as troll fodder, and I recommend against slamming one turn one.

  3. In grindy matchups, you can side in Corpsejack Menaces. I you can get the Menace, Varolz, and Jarad on the field and Deadbridge Goliath in your graveyard, you can generally drain your opponent in one fell swoop.

All that being said, I am uncertain about this deck. It currently sits at the juncture of aggro and midrange, and I am unsure if I want more early drops (ex: Experiment One, Rakdos Cackler) or more of a midrange package, with multiple MD Vraskas and more Deadbridge Goliaths.

Suggestions are welcome, but I'm a player on a semi budget, so don't suggest Deathrite Shaman, Abrupt Decay, or Overgrown Tomb, please.
