-Mono Black Infect Control, Comments and suggestions welcome!

-Play infect creatures, remove enemy threats with Instant/Sorcery Spells, equip a Runechanter's Pike (buffed by all the control cards in the graveyard) and swing in for the win!

Key Cards:

  • Rogue's Passage: Gives creatures unblockable in the late game as a finisher.
  • Karn's Bastion: Similar use to Rogue's Passage, proliferating Infect counters to win the game, but doesn't require any living creatures, and can finish off "infected" creatures.
  • Funeral Charm: Combos with Urborg, Tomb of Yawgmoth to make a creature Unblockable. Also acts as removal, a combat trick and instant-speed discard.
  • Nameless Inversion: Interesting removal/buff spell. Can take out <=3 Toughness creatures, including any buffed up by tribal effects OR it can be put onto a Phyrexian Vatmother to make her a 7/2 for a single hit!.
  • Raven's Crime: 1-of as multiples are pretty redundant and the effect isn't hugeee. Use to turn dead lands late game into discard spells. Combos with Dakmore Salvage to creature recurring removal/fill graveyard for Runechanters Pike.
  • Unnatural Endurance: Cheap combat trick that can also be used to save a creature from removal.
  • Duress: Helps remove problem cards before they get played, one of the only ways to deal with artifacts and enchantments in black. One of the only turn 1 plays in the deck.
  • Runechanters Pike: Key finisher card, makes use of all the removal/discard cards in the deck. First strike helps smaller infect creatures take out big threats without dying.
  • Phyrexian Crusader: Great creature that avoids the 2 most common removal spells in Modern, Path to Exile and Lightning Bolt. Almost a guaranteed win vs mono red/white/boros decks.
  • Hand of the Praetors: Great big infect lord, pumps up smaller early game infect creatures and makes use of them late game for direct infect damage.
  • Whispering Specter: More evasive Infect creatures with excellent discard potential. If it gets through after a few other attacks it can be sacrificed to force a full hand discard, which is usually fatal.
