I can't help but think about how much more awesome and likely it would be now to see Huatli and Saheeli team up to build an amazing Kaladesh-style gearhulk version of Grimlock, Dinobot Leader  Flip. Or any of the other Dinobots for that matter.

king-saproling - the animation is definitely dated, but the writing holds up well! If only I could afford Grimlock, Dinobot Leader  Flip :'(

Well, I think anyone with the power cosmic should be WUBRG in identity, but not necessarily in cost. And as for casting cost, while many people may want to go Izzet because it's his color scheme, I don't think Izzet fits Peter very well because he isn't the chaotic type. He is extremely calm and relaxed and intelligent; Not indicative of red at all. Strangely enough, I think the color that would "calm down" blue would be white, which should make Peter Azorius - which given the moral compass Spiderman has, that makes a ton of sense.

  • Implying Peter mfing Parker is calm?

Being hyperactive isn't chaotic. Perhaps calm is the wrong word. He is spastic, yes, but he isn't aggressively violent or ambitious as we see Izzet typically display.

So here's an Azorius Power Cosmic Spiderman.

Peter Parker, The Power Cosmic

Legendary Creature - Human Mutant Avatar

Flying, Ward , Indestructible

If Peter Parker would deal lethal damage to a creature or planeswalker, rather than destroy it you may instead tap it and put a web counter on it. As long as you control Peter Parker, The Power Cosmic, creatures and planeswalkers with web counters on them can't be untapped and their activated and triggered abilities can't be activated or triggered.

At the beginning of your upkeep, draw a card for each permanent you don't control with a web counter on it.

, : Peter Parker, the Power Cosmic deals 10 damage to any nonplayer target.

4/5

I wouldn't have normally given Spiderman flying, hexproof and indestructible - or any for that matter. I'd have gone reach and vigilance, eluding toward his webslinging and spidey sense. However, again, the Power Cosmic really amps things up a bit so it needs to be properly represented.

EDIT - Changed hexproof to Ward , to make it at least removable.

Historically speaking, I know not many users are fans of Marvel / DC. We have gone through these properties several times and eventually someone pipes up about their displeasure of the franchises. So rather than continue those, here's a fun new one.

Make a Transformer. Yes, as in the TRANSFORMERS property. Autobot or Decepticon is fine. WOTC printed one before; see Grimlock, Dinobot Leader  Flip.

For the purposes of the challenge, you may design it as either of the following:

  • An MDFC where either side is castable at all times; One being the robot side and one being the vehicle or dinobot side.
  • A card that begins as a vehicle or dinosaur and transforms into the robot side
  • A card that begins as the robot side and transforms into the vehicle or dinosaur side

Pretty flexible, right? Just have fun with it and pick your favorite.

Thanks to the work of tiffanyann for this idea.

We often talk about "Rule 0"; What your deck does, what it's power level is, who your Commander is, if there are any infinite combos, etc.

But sometimes, Rule 0 is to ask the table if using an Unset Commander is okay. If using a Legendary Enchantment or Artifact or Planeswalker in the Command Zone is okay. If running Gisela, the Broken Blade  Meld Partnered with Bruna, the Fading Light  Meld is okay. Other examples are Stitcher Geralf and Ghoulcaller Gisa as Partners, or Hans Eriksson and Saffi Eriksdotter. Maybe you want to run Sword of Dungeons & Dragons in your D&D themed set. Maybe you want to run Surgeon General Commander. But there's more; Sometimes you want to play with a banned card. Maybe you have this killer Griselbrand build and want to see if it can withstand three opponents.

Rule 0 is important. It doesn't often "require" its own hub, but there are times when it could be useful. And, if the community accepts it as a unique hub, it could also open up more creativity because it pushes up against the boundaries of the RC.

After all, as long as your table is okay with it, then it's fine. If your table is fine with you running Iona, Shield of Emeria or Primevals' Glorious Rebirth, Garruk, Apex Predator or Grimlock, Dinobot Leader  Flip then there is absolutely no reason why you can't or shouldn't be able to. All of these are not legal for use as Commanders within the Command Zone, but if your table is okay with it, then suddenly they are. Similarly, Iona and Grimlock can't be in the deck, even in the +99. If your table is okay with it, then it's fine.

Similarly, sometimes players build decks that run non-legendary creatures as Commanders. One very popular build is Shaman of the Great Hunt, and to a lesser extent Brutal Hordechief. In fact, one of the most popular decks on this site itself would be classified as Rule 0: Dune: He Who Can Destroy a Thing, Controls a Thing, by FenIsABasicSwamp.

So with that said, I propose Rule 0 as a hub. Since we need to be able to describe it in one or two short sentences;

  • "There are many rules to EDH. Rule 0 decks ask the table beforehand if it is okay to run silver-bordered cards, banned cards or cards that would otherwise be 'illegal' in the Command Zone."

Brago, Count of Paliano

Legendary Creature - Human Noble

Whenever ~ or a Noble Creature enters the battlefield, you may draw a card.

Whenever a Human Creature you control becomes tapped, if it is not your Combat step, create a 1/1 Human Noble Token.

3/4

"If there is to be an arrangement made, let it be not by force of steel, but by the gentleness of humility."

It not only works for his lore as a prequel to his known card, Brago, King Eternal, but with this iteration as well. I could def see him working in 60 and 100 card formats, no problem. Pretty solid card all around, and some more help in the Noble tribe!

We have Grimlock, Dinobot Leader  Flip, but not any others. How sad. So, for the Next Challenge, create your favorite Transformer!

Maybe cards like Grimlock, Dinobot Leader  Flip, that care about vehicles would be a better option?

Deadpoo111, thanks for the comment and +1 - each point gets me closer and closer to that fabled ~500 upvotes. Currently, that's the upvote count to beat, with the only other tribal deck I have to compete with is the Professor's introductory sliver build. I referenced it in my deck description, but I just need to fix it up as I need to strip out all the javascript. Speaking of the Professor of Tolarian Community College, he'll be a guest at the upcoming CommandFest in D.C. we'll be meeting up at. And yes, i'll be bringing this monstrosity along with me. As a reminder you'll be cosplaying Ral Zarek, yes? To identify me, i'll be carrying around a large Grimlock Transformer in box. To clarify, I also pilot Grimlock, Dinobot Leader  Flip - as he is insanely cool for a Dino commander. That decklist is The Predator of Predators, in case you were curious. what decks are you bringing along?
