Sideboard

Maybeboard

had to change the name of the list because everyone is naming their brew "it's raining cats and dogs". Hopfully, this new name is better

This is a budgetless dual tribal deck; only cats and dogs. Recent changes have made it so all hounds are now dogs. This is not a cedh deck despite its' price. The goal of this deck is to be the most optimal cat/dog tribal deck it can be. The bulk of the cost is from the generic good mana rocks and the land base; there is a fairly large sideboard of cards that can be used as substitutes for the cards that might be too expensive for some. Also, dogs and hounds are still a rather weak tribe but I did pick the best of the litter; hopefully, we'll get some more powerful dogs in the near future.

Mirri, Weatherlight Duelist - allows you to push through damage more easily and makes it much more difficult for opponents to crack back at you.

Prowling Serpopard - because there's always a blue player at the table that wants to ruin your fun

Qasali Pridemage - artifact/enchantment removal and exalted

So, because this is a pure tribal deck the main ramp source is going to be rocks. Granted, dorks are great but they take away from the theme

Smothering Tithe - probably the best white card printed in the past 5 years. Just excellent value.

So, you may of noticed the ridiculously large sideboard and maybeboard; the sideboard consists of cards that do not make the cut for various reasons. For instance, Qasali Slingers has an excellent effect and relevant creature type but the cmc is too high. Token doublers are great; however, our commander cannot produce tokens on it's own. Our commander requires us to have resources to generate tokens which is why token adders and doublers have been excluded. Lastly, there are a lot of legendary cats I did not include mainly because they add nothing to the overall game plan and don't provide synergy outside of their creature type. Most of the cards are okay in some circumstances and aren't laughably bad and can make for good budget substitutions just I personally wouldn't run them because I don't like cards that are situationally good.

side note

The maybeboard is all cards I would include if I wasn't trying to be a pure tribal deck. They're all excellent cards and I'd highly suggest running them if your aim is to build a strong version without the creature type stipulation.

This is still a work in progress but here's 1 combo.

Infinite dogs

Aluren + Rin and Seri, Inseperable + Whitemane Lion

Now if we add Impact Tremors to that equation its infinite damage

If Earthcraft, a basic land and Skullclamp are added to that equation we can draw our entire deck and have infinite mana; assuming we have a basic forest, plains and mountain in play.
