Some other candidates for the deck

This deck is very reminiscent of the Nihilist format. The only resource I know of with the rules is a German page: https://magic.freizeitspieler.de/nihilist.php.

The aim of the format is to construct a playable but poor deck. Here are some basic rules for deck construction (60 card decks):

  • Only two colours
  • at least 16 basic lands in matching colours (8 of each colour).
  • at least 22 lands
  • at least 16 creatures with a power of 1 or higher that can attack
  • etc.

Hand the deck to the player on your left and play a game of Magic (the first deck gets three points, the second two points, and the third one point). Repeat this process until everyone has played with every deck at the table, except their own. The winner is the deck creator whose deck has the fewest points. It could be done in Commander, but the games would take up the whole evening.

Goblin Pyromancer is really good as a finisher. It gets even more fun when you combine it with Patriarch's Bidding. Goblin Assassin can be good as you often have more expendable creatures than your opponent. Patron of the Akki is just a good card for goblins in general.

Alkadron: Thanks for all the commenting!

Good catch on the Goblin Assassin, I changed the wording in the primer to show that it affects everyone equally.

My problem with Goblin Pyromancer is more often than not I can get a stronger and permanent effect out of Shared Animosity, for a cheaper casting cost, and I don't have to worry about losing all my Goblins if someone takes out my sac outlet(s) with targeted removal, and I can't remove the Pyromancer before the end of turn. I can see running it for the humor and chaos though.

Again, nice catch on Insult/Injury, I didn't think about doubling the Repercussion damage as well. That's going to be a great combo! I can't wait to try it.

Really well done! I like this a lot. I also run a Ib Halfheart deck, which is super fun. Mine's more... suicide-y? No crucible, I just sac every last one of my lands, drop a haste enabler and a Goblin Pyromancer, and hope no-one Fogs. Yours looks a lot more thought-through.

I have to disagree with your description on two points:

Anyways, good work!

The most OP cards you can pair with Krenko are: anything that untaps him.

Thornbite Staff goes infinite with any sac engine.

Sword of the Paruns goes infinite with any sac-for-mana engine.

If infinite's not your style (I used to play Krenko, and I discovered that it wasn't my style - I always felt like I'd robbed everyone of a good game whenever I went infinite), there are other options.

Magewright's Stone is outstanding. Thousand-Year Elixir is better. Rings of Brighthearth is best of all. Illusionist's Bracers are a poor substitute, but still phenomenal.

I would make your goblins' power your top priority: Goblin Pyromancer is actually really good, if your board has haste. Shared Animosity is going to be Coat of Arms one day when it grows up, and both belong in Krenko decks.

I wouldn't worry so much about stuff like Wave of Indifference or Stun - just let the dudes get blocked, they're super expendable.

I personally luvvv goblins in EDH, don't listen to the BS others put out about it! +1 from meee! Here's some cards that come to mind when I look at this deck - not really suggestions - cuz I like it the way it is!Could throw in a Great Furnace and Kuldotha RebirthA Goblin Marshal is always nice with lackey and instigator, it's decent mid game as well.Goblin Pyromancer is a good finisher.Timed right Final Fortune or Last Chance can be great finishers too! Kind of the same goes for cards like Relentless Assault.I've always liked Song of Blood too! It's way underrated.

toss out Goblin Pyromancer and put in Tuktuk the Explorer. Goblin Pyromancer is way too risky to put in.

Hi, Fellow Wort player here. Have you thought about Goblin Pyromancer? To me, he's the Goblin equivalent of Craterhoof Behemoth, meaning that you could eliminate someone with it. There is that unfortunate drawback, but there are ways around it:

  1. If you would champion the Pyromancer or sacrifice it, the drawback won't happen. It has to be in play for it to happen.

  2. If you have Goblin Chirurgeon in play when the drawback goes off, sacrifice the expendables you don't need to regenerate the ones that you do need.
