How do you put backgrounds on your decks? Like on your Ardor of the Zealous deck, you had the invocation Hazoret as your background. Can you please tell how to do that? Thx.

does Exploration work for you? its only 1 additional land, but better than no additionals.

Frodo1337 Hello there! sorry for not getting to your comment sooner,
addressing your question, I haven't tested either of them yet, IMO they don't seem to be very good creatures for this deck, since Angel of Sanctions is a vulnerable removal on a 3/4 with flashback (besides some synergy with anointed procession and anointer priest), and vizier of many faces relies on another powerful creature in order to be good itself. Feel free to test them out, maybe they'll work very well! If you do build this, I hope you enjoy it, and let me know how it works out for you~ =D

Gyre Sage doesn't allow for a potential turn 3 win, and a not so uncommon win, and so would destroy the point of having such a creature. Gyre Sage is not that good for this deck, as If it is tapping for a ton of mana, I should've lost the game. Heritage Druid is always more superior for this kind of elves build, as it ignores summoning sickness, and combos really well with Nettle Sentinel. none of that gyre sage can do. So no, although gyre sage may be able to tap for mana, it can only do that after I should've lost the game already, while heritage druid is an all star of the deck, allowing for absurd turns.

EWDijkstra: I don't run Eldritch Evolution because it is a sorcery, and can be harder to cast. Chord of Calling can instant speed fetch whatever I want, and in addition, it has convoke. works really well with me having a lot of elves.
Nettle Sentinel is something I've already tested, and they simply don't end up being good enough, and can't be played turn 1 anyway (or I can't ramp fast enough). Theyre also more fragile to push, and I run imperious perfect because I simply don't have enough lords.
I actually have 2 Elvish Champion in the sideboard (because people keep using spells to steal a bunch of my creatures and attack me with my own deck), I believe you overlooked them while looking at the list.
I will be picking up a copy of Pendelhaven, just not soon.
Thanks for the time you've spent into making suggestions! Since so many people have been suggesting Nettle Sentinel, i'll go back to trying them out. Cheers!

you can move your enchantments and gaea's blessing to sideboard, as not all decks are going to put your library into your graveyard, or swarm a bunch of fliers. instead, running 4x Llanowar Elves may be better. If you cut freyalise as well, you'll have room for 4x Heritage Druid, which is really powerful for ramping. i'd suggest cutting some Lys alana huntmaster, so you have room for 2x Ezuri, Renegade Leader.

nice elf build! just gonna add my 2 cents here; you run only 18 lands and have 11 non creature spells. Wouldn't cutting 1 Cavern of Souls keep you from drawing a hand where your only land is a cavern?
IMO craterhoof behemoth seems to work better with Chord of Calling, which I think your deck is good without. I wouldn't cut Lead the Stampede, as lead can help you fill your hand, and is also a good way to spend the insane amounts of mana you get from running harvest season.
because you're running lead and coco, using Pithing Needle and Relic of Progenitus may not work out very well. Both of them will get sent to the bottom as they are not creatures. instead, Phyrexian Revoker and Scavenging Ooze may be better alternatives, as they are creatures. If money doesn't stop you, then Spellskite is a good way to redirect some spells.
That took longer than I thought it would, anywho, interesting deck! +1 :)

i'm not seeing any cards banned, are you seeing them showing up on the right hand side of your screen?
May 25, 2017 8:59 p.m.
you are running Cavern of Souls, which can make all the difference, as generally, if on the play, I turn one elvish mystic and they respond with a push. or, if on the draw, i try to play mystic, then meet a spell pierce. (i know cavern doesn't protect against push). probably because most of my opponents are quick to target any 1 mana creatures, as well as any elf lords. also, since i run Lead the Stampede, having 20 lands let me play more of the creatures I hit. nice deck anywho, i'll go take a better look at it

if i were to add nettle sentinel, i would cut joraga warcaller, and I don't think I'm quite ready for that yet. I would not cut lands, as staying at 20~21 ensures I can still be drawing some lands, while cutting more lands means that my hands depend all on one land; and then fall apart if I don't draw any more.

holding back against control works, but not when I have to suffer boardwipes on the field, and inquisition/thoughtseize in hand. lead ends up working better, because its not a common target from inquisition and thoughtseize, and helps stuff my hand up with cards to bait my opponent. against control, i end up favoring lead because chord is simply not as good when the creatures i cast die, and i have to hard cast chord.

maybe an Inkmoth Nexus to replace sanctum? if sanctum doesn't mean anything now, inkmoth could help be a good chump blocker.
also, Aether Hub could help you with color fixing if needed.
great deck going here, +1

I'll be putting up my comment shortly, just got to make sure no one comments here while im working on your deck
I'd like some suggestions in general, such as sideboards, a certain card i'm missing, etc. thanks!

i'd like suggestions, but upvotes are fine too.

Chord is a dead draw after a boardwipe, so I favor lead

about running Nissa Revane, i generally find that her +1 for gaining life isnt as important, and although running 1 in mainboard can work, it would be one of the first things that i would board out because a. she relies on you having your creatures alive. If you had your creatures alive, shouldnt you be attacking and trying to win the game? (save Ensnaring Bridge). b. cost. Her ultimate is a great threat, as always, to any deck, and can easily be removed, attacked at, bolted (she happens to go up to 3 on the turn you cast her), and becomes a 4 mana Nissa's Chosen, or gain 8 life.
also, you might want to run a 4x Elvish Archdruid, by moving scavenging ooze to sideboard (and cutting jarad). ooze is a great card, but in your starting mainboard, unless your meta is all graveyard strategies, you want to run few non elf creatures, as they can become dead draws. a 4th archdruid also allows for more consistency, and better ramping.
nice elf build you got going here! +1

sorry for the vague previous answer, I was in a hurry and was not available to make a more detailed comment. To be honest, I haven't really done much to handle infect. I could run a few copies of ghost quarter to stop Inkmoth Nexus, I could run Melira, Sylvok Outcast to ruin their other creatures, such as Glistener Elf.
which do you think will be sufficient?
May 23, 2017 10:10 p.m.
My meta has no infect, so it hasn't been a problem a far. If so, I could put in melira

may i suggest some edits? You wouldn't need elvish mystic, and would probably be better off having something like this
(not sure how many cards this is, but some of these cards may be very helpful)
Some deckbuilding tips: try to keep your deck at 60 cards, generally run 23 lands, and don't run cards that cost 6+ mana unless they are going to end the game for you or is very important (such as Elspeth, Sun's Champion which can win the game for you). For example, you could cut Paradox Engine, as it isn't as important. Nomads' Assembly can be powerful, but doesn't end the game.

Thanks for your suggestions! I'll have to test out Copperhorn Scout. I do agree with the weakness of Joraga warcaller, as it usually ends up being a bad turn 1 to let me play dwynen's elite.
I generally dislike Nettle Sentinel, as it is mediocre by itself, and really good with Heritage Druid. picking up a hand and seeing a nettle sentinel but no heritage druid turns it into a a 1 mana 2/2 that gets very hard to untap, and since any other elf can easily turn into a 2/2 and above, I don't play heritage druid for that reason.
If you don't mind, I have a question for you. Is Shaman of the Pack a necessary in green black elves, or is it more of personal preference / deck style? (I find that making opponents lose 4 life isn't as relevant as running a card like Prowess of the Fair that gives you some way to get back from boardwipes).
