Let's build: UR cycle tokens.

Standard Deck Help forum

So ever since The Locust God got spoiled, I immediately was thinking of constant draw engines to support its ability. And actually, a once neglected card may turn out to be quite useful now: Ghirapur Orrery!

So, this is a rather crafty deck and I need some help in finding the balance. The following cards I has as idea:

Combo win-con cards:Drake Haven The Locust God

What helps the combo?:Fevered VisionsGhirapur OrreryForgotten Creation Tragic Lesson Oath of Jace

Alternate card ideas?:New Perspectives, we got a LOT of cycle cards. A one-off of this will make it go nuts. Hollow One , as we keep cycling, this card can be cast for very cheap and forms a strong blocker.

What keeps us standing?:UnsummonUnsubstantiate Engulf the Shore Commit / Memory (this also comes with a new draw engine.)Thing in the Ice  Flip*Kefnet the MindfulTorrential Gearhulk

  • why soft removal? We want to keep their hand size big of course, for fevered visions to burn them. And those tokens just keep recreating them anyway (and the insects have haste.)

Some other cards I've been thinking of:

Consign / Oblivion I think it's nice... although, I rather really prefer Unsubstantiate as I don't do anything with Oblivion unless I splash black. And I don't want HIM to discard cards, as that counteracts my fevered visions.

Hour of Devastation This one is actually a much better boardwipe than I had foreseen. It doesn't kill the Locust God Well, it does, but the locust god doesn't care. and my Torrential Gearhulk, however it does kill Kefnet, and everything else.

Pull from Tomorrow It's a much slower draw source, but it draws a lot more.

I really like this card as well and have been planning on working it into my New Perspectives deck.

You know Thing in the Ice doesn't draw cards, right? It just puts stuff in your hand.

Thing in the ice is merely for control. It warps everything back to their owners hand while you stall time to turn 4+
