Soul Sisters Threats

Modern Deck Help forum

I have been piecing together Soul Sisters Chalice Variation for a while now. It has a couple glaring weaknesses against Modern decks. Chalice of Life  Flip is a primary win condition, but is doomed on its own so long as the meta requires artifact hate.

Also, Oblivion Ring and Path to Exile are a tad redundant, so as I get more Paths (with the reprint they're within reach, I will phase out Rings and have 4 combined, such that I open up a 4 slot to add a secondary win condition. Here are my options as I see them:

Many of these options are simply beyond what I'm willing to pay. Any ideas?

with the reprint ranger of eos will decline, but why not just add Felidar Sovereign and some number of Brave the Elements for protection. You just need it to live for one turn. I'm also partial to Divinity of Pride

also think 18 lands is too few. You should run atleast 20. Kabira Crossroads is good

Brave us in my maybe board. I'm worried that Felidar blows up my curve, idk

Serra Ascendant. It's not soul sisters without it.

Archangel of Thune, because it can deliver some real nasty surprises during attacks if played from your hideaway land.

Try the math: you attack with 3 soul sisters, and during the attack, you play archangel from Windbrisk Heights, triggering each of the "gain 1 life" abilities, gaining you 3 life, and triggering archangels ability 3 times, making each of the sisters a 4/4.

I disagree on Kabira Crossroads as it comes into play tapped. You already have Windbrisk Heights (I guess - it wouldn't be soul sisters without it) and adding more slow-lands basically means that your opponent gets an extra turn.

I would invest in a playset of Windbrisk Heights. Sure, Felidar Sovereign throws off your mana curve, but in is meant to be played off of windbrisk. If you are playing the martyr, also look into Squadron Hawk, and as stated above no soul sisters is complete without Serra Ascendant

Ohhh.... no Windbrisk Heights? Well, you really need those. And Auriok Champion too (although that kills any pretense of this being a budget-deck).

Serra Ascendant and Auriok Champion would be nice but are pricy. Other than those, I'm now play testing Divinity of Pride. I'll have to investigate Windbrisk Heights
