Getting ready for a modern IQ. Need SB help.

Deck Help forum

As the title suggests, I need to "de-meta" my sideboard. I play Jund in modern, and there is an IQ coming in two weeks.

I would link my deck, but some dude has the same name as my deck and I cannot properly link it.

The deck name is nemesis.

What would you guys put in the "perfect" Jund sideboard?

I think asking for sideboard help is the same as asking for deck help. Inb4 Epochalyptik moves the thing.

Anything to hose Affintiy ( Creeping Corrosion , Ancient Grudge ), Twin ( Spellskite , Torpor Orb , Rakdos Charm ), Pod ( Orb, Surgical Extraction , Extirpate ), U/W/R Control ( Duress , Savage Summoning ?, Guttural Response , Vexing Shusher , Scavenging Ooze ) and for Tron, Sowing Salt , Ghost Quarter , Tectonic Edge , etc.

Mayhap Tron doesn't show up to PTQ's, but Twin, Pod, and Affinity definitley do.

My SB is already set up for these match ups; affinity, tron, merfolk, UWR control, gifts and 8 rack. That's the extent of my local meta. With random faerie decks and hate ears sprinkled in it.

So I guess I am pretty solid so far, and not too far off the mark. Thank you so far guys.

I think reading some of Willy Edel's articles (especially the recent one about Jund vs. Junk) will help. His sideboards are very well-tuned, and often contain a very healthy amount of one-ofs that you may find interesting to look at. I do think the Sowing Salt in your sideboard should just be a third Fulminator Mage , Edel claims the Mage is better and I have to agree, as its a little more versatile and can chump block as well.

Whoops, it seems you already have seen his decks with some of the cards you have in the sideboard. Thrun, the Last Troll is another card in addition to Batterskull that help in the pseudo-mirrormatch.

Ah yes, thrun. That card is boss. I just picked a pair of them up the other day on some advice from a friend. Haven't played them yet, are they really THAT good?

@gnarlicide Try him out. He's sort of the embodiment of Jund: grindy, resilient and almost impossible to kill. If you untap with Thrun, BGx opponents will be hard-pressed to get any sort of meaningful beatdown going, especially when you're also removing their creatures. Pod even sideboards him in to have a consistent source of unkillable beats against control and other grindy decks. Thrun is a lot like Batterskull in terms of purpose.
